  1. Alright, so i thought I had everything down. Read up everything I could find about doing a conversion. Go tot ake my gun apart, start noticing differences from the only tutorials I could find (they were all for x39.) So I go to take the pins out, and they are frakking hard to get out. Eventually we do manage to get them out and discover they are retaining pins, and pulled the metal out with them. Not actually off of the gun, but the metal did bulge. We think we can correct this when putting the gun back together, just hammer it out. Anyway, go to convert and discover the the trig
  2. Honestly Wolf is stuff I buy for plinking at the range. For hunting I spend the extra money and get a box of the expensive stuff like Hornady or Winchester Supreme or something. I mean I don't doubt that Wolf is effective and will get the job done, but if there's better out there...use better when it counts, imo. Plus Wolf, like most Russian ammo, is just dirty when fired.
  3. Yeah, same happened to me, though the guy asked where I saw that at and I guided him to the forum. He took my order.
  4. CAA site Anyone know if the parts are Made in the USA? Maybe I'm just blind but I can't find anything about it on their site and I want to be sure before I shell out money for it to do my conversion.
  5. Saiga is a rifle manufactured by Izmash in Russia. It's imported to the US by RAAC.
  6. Which is the best? I've been eyeing the Tapco one and the one from Ace Stocks. Any opinions or other suggestions?
  7. Do you have a scope on your Saiga? Have you chrono'ed your hunting load yet? What bullet weight are you using? What are you hunting? I am going to make a couple of assumptions in my calculations. MV: 2,600 fps Bullet: 150 gr SP BC: ~0.390 Sight Height: 1.95" (aka Iron Sights) Target Size: +/- 3" from bore Using these assumptions, you should adjust you point of impact to be 2.75" high at 100 yards and the bullets path will be +/- 3" out to roughly 260 yards. You can do a rough zero at 30 yards, but confirm that you are 2.75" at 100 before trusting it. The round will still
  8. So I've had my Saiga .308 for a few months now and absolutely love the rifle. I've taken it to the range a few times, but haven't had a chance to shoot it beyond 100 yards. Hunting season is coming up and I'm wondering what the general range people would recommend for a .308 with a 16" barrel would be. So what do you recommend for an upper limit in distance? Also, anyone know where I could find a 5 round mag for the .308?
