  1. First of all, the extra parts are packaged up and going to the post office tomorrow for a refund. Secondly, the next time,(will not be long from now) I have some funds in my paypal account, I will make a contribution because I do enjoy this site and the info made available and the good majority of folks who frequent here (probably not the one with the wise-ass comment about being interested "IF" I was a contributor). Of course, I could be wrong about him just like he is about me. eseaton
  2. I finally got all my parts rounded up for a S-12 conversion except for my Ace folding stock parts. Like my mags, I ordered from more than one source. When I wound up with several mags at about the same time I figured I would just keep them because you can always use or trade with mags. Now I have two sets of folding stock parts by Ace. I ordered the mid-length Skeleton folder, Universal stamped receiver adaptor and the folding mechanism. Oh well, I could buy another S-12 or maybe just sell one set. ACE really is slow on shipping aren't they? eseaton edit to remove e-mail address
  3. Thanks for the answer, Bob. The deal is this. I want to get my paperwork sent off before I actually receive all of the folding stock parts and I figured you guys would know the answer. Can you tell me based on the flat welded on piece you use what the overall length would be with the 8.5" folder and a 8" barrel? By the way. If I have my barrel cut down to 10", what work has to be done to make it reliable in relation to the length of the gas tube, etc? Would the front grips have to be shortened? Thanks for the info and time it takes to get it to me. eseaton
  4. How difficult and expensive is moving the gas tube back? When moved, do the gas bleed-off holes need to be redrilled? Based on my original question, what would the ballpark cost be to make those changes? Thanks eseaton
  5. When I receive my Form 1 back, I intend to have the barrel cut to around 10". What I am not clear on is does the gas tube have to be shortened, new gas bleed holes drilled, shortened foregrips fitted, etc. Anyone who has been through this, please give me the info I need to have the job done right. I like the look of a barrel around 10 inches with the Galil foregrip installed. I would want some new sites, maybe Krebs or the H&K style. It will have the conversion already done by me with the internal receiver block and mid-length Ace folder in place. I do not want it so short that the firebal
  6. Tony, I guess you have had other things on your mind. When you get a chance, can you let me know the overall length of a 8" barreled Saiga-12 with an Ace mid-length folder (internal receiver block)? Thanks Eric
  7. Tritium, Should we assume that since your brake is permanently attached, that the overall length would have been around 28" with out the brake? Is there a required minimum length, even with a SBS build? eseaton
  8. Axis pin retainting plate needed for Saiga-12. The flat plate that holds the internal pins in place. I need one if anyone has an extra one. Thanks eseaton
  9. If someone has a SBS Saiga-12 that has the 8 or 10" barrel and an Ace folding stock with internal receiver block, it will really help me if you can provide the overall length for me so I can go ahead and complete my Form 1 and get it mailed to BATF. Please measure without any muzzle attachments and let me know if you are using the short, medium, or long Ace folder. Your help is greatly appreciated. By the way, do you like the Ace folder set-up with the internal receiver block and which barrel length do you suggest, and why? Thanks eseaton
  10. Tony, I am going to fill out my form 1 and need to know the overall length of a Saiga-12 with a midlength ace skeleton folder with internal receiver block and a 8" barrel without any muzzle device connected........ Also, please hurry and open up for new builds Thanks for the info. eseaton
  11. You might need an extra hand with this but try to pull completely back on the bolt handle and at the same time try to grip or use a tool to pull/pry down on the BHO tab. If it comes down, then release the bolt, letting it move forward. Good luck. eseaton
  12. I have been gathering parts for a conversion. I just need to get my stock options worked out. I was concerned about the all metal stock against the shoulder. I hoped that there might be some king of rubber butt pad made for that model if I bought it. I have a brand new Chaos Porkypine I was going to sell or trade on for a folding stock. I was looking for an Ace stock, internal receiver block, and folding apparatus. eseaton esea2000@yahoo.com
  13. Can anyone tell me by looking or experience if this will fit my Saiga-12 without (or even with) modification. I was told it was a Romanian folder that folds right and came off an AK. Is $100 a fair price? Here are some pics: The seller says it attaches "just like any other AK stock" Any help is appreciated. eseaton
  14. Got my order in at 9:02pm eastern time on the 30th of December. Order of 3 arrived 1-8-09 via the big brown truck at 16:30. eseaton

  18. Shhhhh...... don't tell everybody but this site has AGP 10 round mags at a better price than anywhere else and as of two days ago, has some in stock. After you see the sight, you will be surprised to find that they carry several different firearm items. They happen to be across town from AGP and just drive over to pick up their supply. Here is the link: http://www.ambientweather.com/ Good luck. Let us know if you get what you are looking for. eseaton
  19. Thanks Gunfixr for the explanation. Now I know what I am looking for. eseaton
  20. I have had an order in with AGP for about 3 weeks with no real end in sight so when I saw this thread about 8:45pm I thought about waiting a little longer for AGP to come through but then decided to try to place an order in case a lot of you guys started reading the same thread. I ordered 3 and saved about $20 off the price for 3 from AGP. It looks like I got in on the last few they had. Maybe I just got lucky for once. My order shows a time of 9:02pm (east coast time) eseaton
  21. That would explain the 11" SBS stocks but what are the folding stocks on the 8" version? eseaton
