  1. So are you saying the Viltor tube bolts directly to the frame with or without special adaptors? Then will any AR15 style tube fit and still fold? Sorry for the "newbie" type questions but I am relatively new to the Saiga 12. I have one and am ready to convert. I want a folder but I especially like the look of yours. Thanks again for the further info. eseaton
  2. Very nice weapons. You did a great job on your conversion. Can you describe makers and models of parts used, especially stocks and forearms? By the way, I have been reading about some Saiga 12's that seem to have left the factory with only two gas ports. Can you advise me how to see (where to look to find) the gas ports? I want to do a Form 1 SBS build with a trust and might consider doing the work myself if I knew more about enlarging the ports, etc. Thanks for the help. eseaton
  3. Went to the R&K Gunshow in Knoxville, Tennessee this morning. Found one Saiga shotgun (12 gauge) in the whole show. They had it priced at 699.00. There were no extra mags at all. eseaton
  4. BTT for more info. Any recommendations on a durable folder that has a "easy" installation with clean looking mounting brackets/parts? Reasonable price important but overall second to good quality and looks. Thanks eseaton
  5. Will someone tell me once and for all, is the rear of the Saiga 12 receiver the same as a stamped AK receiver? Can I attach basically any AK compatible stock either with the tangs or once they are ground off. Specifically, could I attach a folding wire stock or would I need some adaptor? Just a lesson for a newbie all in one place would be greatly appreciated. I have read about "angles of the rear of the receiver", adaptors, weld-on attachments, internal and external blocks. It gets confusing for my feeble mind All help greatly appreciated. eseaton
  6. Has anyone used the trust route to have a SBS built? I used a Form 1 to build an AR15 but wonder if it will work for a SBS build if I send it off to be shortened by someone qualified to do the work. If I completed the Form 1 and paid the tax, sent the paperwork off and received the paperwork back, could I then send it off, have the work done and receive the SBS back directly to me or would I have to go through a Class 3 dealer to receive the SBS? Obviously, the advantage in receiving it directly is no Class 3 fees. I would not mind paying the fees but if I do all the paperwork, what would the
  7. I have a dremel, hand drill, files, punches, pliers, etc. but what drill bit sizes and which dremel attachments would be recommended to make the job go easy? Thanks eseaton
  8. I need a code if there are any available. Thanks eseaton
  9. Tony, I have a Saiga 12 already. Do the prices listed for conversions on your web site include the cost of a weapon or just the work and parts? Secondly, how long will I have to wait to even get on the waiting list? O.K., just one more question. Would it be better to go ahead and get the shogun paperwork for a SBS now or is the turnaround long enough to get papers back on a Trust form (my last trust was 54 days total turnaround time by BATF)? Thanks eseaton
  10. +2 for Deerslayer. Bought a Sig P220 and S12 from him. He delivers quick and exactly what you bought. No problems. eseaton
  11. I would like to be in on a group buy for conversion parts kits or group conversion. eseaton esea2000@yahoo.com
  12. I am a Saiga newbie and just ordered mine. I eventually want to go the short barreled shotgun route but would not mind getting a folding (side) stock and moving the grip, etc. now. Who can anyone with personal experience recommend to make these changes for me at a fair price? Some may recommend I consider doing the conversion myself, but if you do, please recommend where to find the best info for that work. I am reasonably handy with drill, dremel, etc. but do not have alot of time due to wife being chronically ill. Thanks in advance for the info for this newbie. eseaton
  13. This is my first post on this site. My congrats to all who contribute here as it is packed with great info and pics. Can anyone give advice on who can do a basic conversion on a Saiga-12 for a reasonable price. I might be able to do it myself but would rather pay someone a reasonable fee that has the tools and experience to do it. Does someone have to be a FFL holder to receive a firearm to do a conversion? Any ideas or thoughts will be appreciated.
