  1. Interesting. I was recently told to do exactly that (two center mass, one hip shot) because of the large number of home invasions performed by men wearing body armor. Only problem with the groin shot is that it doesn't incapacitate the perp completely from following up with additional shots. Try for the head shot, light out, but playing it safe I would also go for the groin.
  2. 2 in the chest, 1 in the head or pelvic region, and follow up shots center mass on the way down.
  3. I am POSITIVE that the names of trusts get used time and again and again and again. So, we all could have the "123 Revocable Living Trust" and if they were all done correctly they would all get approved. Additionally, for reasoning or intent for the item...almost anything can be used here too. Have fun, be safe, and let us know what you go with. Just FYI, mine is "NFA Assets Revocable Living Trust." Knowing the name is worthless unless you have make, model, weapon specifications, serial numbers and the almighty signature to tie to it. Gunny NR
  4. I could see the possibility of making it a sticky...but where would it get pinned? I too could snap a few pictures of my new "tuna can" cleaned out...heck I might even get inside of it to show you how much room it has (21.53 sq ft). It is too bad that I do not have a lot of pictures of my old safe to compare it to. I'm sure if we work this together it could go somewhere. Gunny NR
  5. Not a problem, it was a good time. I too am a fan of the mechanical locks but based off the UL listing it was almost a no brainer and had I gotten the 39 gun safe the electronic lock is an additional fee whereas it was included in this one. I know they are not made in the USA nor do I know for sure what country they are made in. I will call tomorrow and find out and edit this post. I too had a bargain basement, "Elite, Stack-On" 20 or 21 gun safe from Dicks Sporting Goods. It did me well for a while until I had to start stacking rifles on rifles. Your correct, I just dont h
  6. There's no need for violence when there is the best memory wipe Earth has even known... WHISKEY... Alright... Joke is over... What's the scoop, Gunny? You like it or not? Pros, Cons? Ahhh, Makers Mark 46...my liquid vice!! To answer your question with a simple answer, "I love this safe!" PRO's: 1) It is frick'n HEAVY as hell but not TOO LARGE where a few strong guys, some standard moving equipment, a bit of sweat, and a few dozen curse words can't get the job done moving it where you want it to go, 2) There is a 5% discount off the publish price for active & reti
  7. Truck pulls up to house...anticipation starts!! S Safe is being off loaded... After I got the box off and inspected everything and noted a few spots of "finish" wear due to them using tie down straps I got it wheeled up to my front door. After that I cut away all the cardboard and used a thick section of the Styrofoam that protected the front locking mechanism we got this rolling in the house. Quick detour...I had to go to get a dolly from Tractor Supply rated for 1000lbs...$146 BUCKS!! Yes, I returned it. That lip may not look like much but try squatting 882lbs!!
  8. > > > I took possession of my 882 lb safe this afternoon around 2:30 p.m. After unboxing it, inspecting for damage, and getting it as close to my front door as possible I signed the freight bill and the tractor trailer took off. I had four large, stout guys help me get it in my house, and into place. 4-1/2 hours later it rests nestled in my hiding spot. An appliance dolly rated for 1000lbs, a furniture dolly, and some brute muscle is what it takes to move this thing. Good luck to anyone that wants something this big & heavy. Semper Fi, Gunny NR

  10. Not 100% correct. Battlecomp brakes are AMAZING!!
  11. Muzzle brake get a Battlecomp 1.0 BEST COMP ON THE MARKET!
  12. Your best bet is to get some standard, bulk, NATO spec rounds. The 5.56 round SUCKS out of short barrel rifles, sorry to say. I have an AR15 with a 10.5" barrel and with I had at least an 11.5". You might ask why and all I can give you is my opinion as I'm not an expert although I have owned many AR's with different barrel lengths over the past 15 years. Your optimal length is 20", an minimum FED APPROVED length is 16", and shortest the Marine Corps has is 14.5". Anything under 14.5" simply wastes too much powder. Wish I had a better answer for you. Respectfully, Gunny NR
  13. Never saw the post you're referring to - but what a useless, rude response from a mod. Way to lead the pack. Shandlanos, My original post asks this, "I'm looking for personal experience from people who actually own safes under $1,800. Please provide make, model and approx cost and your review please." Sim_Player responded with an answer that had absolutely NOTHING to do with my OP and thus he deleted...then tries to bate me into an argument. As for me being useless and rude well that is your opinion. I see NO REASON to sugar coat anything, or be PC about things, and Sim's fi
  14. Thank you everyone for all the suggestions. I think I have found my next purchase...a Steelwater Gun safe. http://www.steelwatergunsafes.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=31&redirected=1&Itemid=31 Thanks, Gunny NR
  15. Wow! Sim_Player, that was a TOTALLY USELESS post. Thanks for nothing! Perhaps you read my original post and answer the question, if at all possible.
  16. Mullet, Please read my original post...I need more than your opinion. Do you own one? Which model? How do you like it? What are the good and bad points? What did it cost? Where did you buy it?
  17. I'm looking for personal experience from people who actually own safes under $1,800. Please provide make, model and approx cost and your review please. Thanks, Gunny NR
  18. The two posts by you make ZERO SENSE!! In one you say and I quote, " I would spit on his grave for my friends killed in Viet Nam by his guns" and then in the next you say, " I think the AK platform is awesome." So which is it? You hate the inventor and love the weapon OR you hate the weapon because of how it is used and there for hate the inventor HOWEVER you spend money on the platform to upgrade it and think its awesome??? I am truly lost here.
  19. Skypilot, With such a negative outlook on the AK weapon platform why, oh why are you a member here? Truly interested. GySgt New River
  20. My dealer is not set up to do E-filing... DAMN-IT!!
