+1 for the Raleigh Gun Show!! Yeah Cobra is totally correct on the envious looks and TONS of questions. I probably spent aboput and 1.5 total hours explaining that no its not an AK-47...so finally I popped in the 10rd mag, found a sling and carried it cross body muzzle down and OMG about a dozen people flocked over saying "OH, is that the new Saiga, where did you get it and how much?" Yes we had fun at the show and Cobra has some sweet convertions on hand. Oh, I almost forgot EVERYONE loved the Shark Brake.........thanks Tony! My new quotee............"Saiga, the new breed of Homel

MCASgt New River replied to MCASgt New River's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
Not really sure to tell you the truth how much less I was looking to save but I though that maybe someone knew of or had a used one that they either didnt like or didnt need after all and wanted to sell. Whats RSR? Thanks, Mike RSR is a wholesale distributer. Yay! I found one kinda cheap...$215.63 +tax & shipping. http://www.directoutdoorsupply.com/SearchR...p?Search=magpul -

Tony, I ordered a Shark Brake a few weeks ago...got it and WOW!! Wicked looking!! Showed my buddies in the Marine Corps and they couldnt believe that it was a brake/compensator...not even the Armorers knew it was, let alone did they believe that the S12 was a 12 guage. I have passed your name around and have a hand full/maybe two of Marines that would like one built now. Seperate note: I was hoping to receive one of these 6 sided ones and not the round one. I'm willing to order another for my S12 if I could get the angular model...is this possible? As well, is there a round one or

Once its approved how long do I have before I chop it? Is the Tax Stamp one time fee? I believe it is however the gentleman at Camp Lejeune's sporting goods counter said you have to renew the stamp every so many years....but once again I have not ever heard of this being the case.

Gauging interest... conversions til Tony is caught up
MCASgt New River replied to csmw's topic in Saiga-12
So if I supply a stock/in the box S12 what will the pricing be to convert to the above picture? Whats the approximate turn around time? Thanks, Michael. -
Now thats INFORMATION for CONSIDERATION! Thanks Cobra!! I can see your point and maybe after I get off the Rifle Range (I'm a Combat Marksmanship Coach) at Cherry Point I can make it out your way and we could go out and play. I'd like to see first hand what brakes, hiders and extensions you have. Not to keen on chopping it so much now.

Does it take a Class II MFG to do this or can any gunsmith legally do it?
-
Send it to a Class 2 mfg who works on Saigas (ie: Tromix) We do that to AR's all of the time. Take an M4 bbl and permanently install a 1.5" on it. Be a nice idea with the S-12. What length are you going to cut it too when you SBS it? .... just curious. I shot one of Tony's 8" guns and it was a hoot. I dont want to SBS it yet, I want to end up with a 18-1/4" barrel with the Shark Brake installed permanently.
-
I'm having a problem with the local gunsmiths in Jacksonville, NC. This is what I want to do.....I'd like to cut my 19" barrel to 18-1/4" and then minus the length of the Tromix Shark Brake. At this point I'd re-thread, screw on the brake and weld in place to bring it to a 18-1/4" (i.e. LEGAL) barrel length. Maybe I'm not seeing the point of...for a moment in time it would be an unregistered SBS (I'm assuming) until the brake was permanently installed, would this be the reason why they wont or am I missing something else? Thanks for all the help, Michael. P.S. Can someone t

Dan did me a HUGE favor and drove an hour and some change to Winston-Salem to meet me for a FTF transfer. Dan keep in touch the entire time to smooth out any questions I had and send MANY pictures until I got a warm and cozy. The weapon was better then described and in fact he threw in some extra "EXTRA" ammo in with the deal. He is definitely a good guy and would do business with him anytime. +2 KUDOS DAN!!
