  1. Key point being a pistol build MUST be made from a "Virgin" receiver, no different than an AR pistol build. A pistol can become a "Carbine" with a barrel conversion, but, a rifle cannot become a pistol, it becomes an illegal short barreled rifle, unless the paperwork is done first. It would have to be rifled, like any other 410 pistol, even if the rifling is only 1/4" long at the end of the barrel. Another point I am not sure about, is I have never seen a 410 pistol that was semi automatic, they are all single shot, and or revolvers, I don't believe being semi would matter, but....
  2. There are a few on Gunbroker with buy it nows under 450.00, it doesnt appear that these are retailing anywhere near the 600.00 figure, plus Gilberts has a few up as well.
  3. "Stay tuned for the clamped mags pics, coming soon." Thats why they make 3" wide black electrical tape!
  4. Okay, I loaded both a few days ago, taking the advice of others here, and I figured it couldnt hurt one way or the other. First mag, 10 rounds Wally World Federal bulk pack, 7.5 shot. Shots 1 and 2 fine, shot 3 failed to load completely, removed the mag, smacked the bolt down with my hand, it fired and extracted, re inserted the mag, the rest of the mag cycled fine, as fast as I could shoot the shells. Mag two, first three rounds Winchester 5 shot magnums, then 7 Sellier and Bellot, 12 ball, 00 Buck. All ten rounds fired, and cycled with no problems. The magnum shells an
  5. "Cheek weld with a folding stock on a semi-automatic shotgun? 021.gif You guys are killing me." Perhaps some of us actually aim????
  6. You know, does anyone actually know of anyone who has ever had a weapon seized for a 922 violation? Im not espousing you go do anything illegal, but, I personally have never heard, or seen, this occur.
  7. Thats one hell of an idea 6500, I always like the look of those stocks, but, never bothered as my FAL is more of a GI shooter, than any type of a sniper or tactical rifle.
  8. I have enough 10's and I hate to waste good parts, even if it means somebody else gets them. I guess spares may just be good enough.
  9. I didnt realize he was asking for an explanation the legal technicalities involved, just what other users opinions were on the stock, my bad..... BTW, doesnt installing an Ace folder then used with AGP US mags bring the gun into compliance? Also heres a recent topic on part suppliers for non conversion changes. The dragunov non folder in the third post is pretty sexy, if you must have a fixed pistol grip. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=18353
  10. Sorry, the ACE folder. And, I gotta dispute the no brainer claim. 10 minutes and your done, and its done at home with a screwdriver and an allen wrench.
  11. What kind of cheek weld do these have, and how good does it lock in place while shooting? Just a few more questions for you guys that have them.
  12. I screwed up the follower, trying to shorten it to get 5 rounds in, instead of 4, well, dont try it, it just ruins the mag. So I have a good body, spring, and baseplate, anybody got a spare follower they want to sell, or have a follower and want to get the rest of the parts. Not looking to spend a mint, or charge a mint, just seeing if I or someone can get use of the parts.
  13. I have one on an unconverted Saiga, fit and function are fine, I do think it sits a little to high to use open sites, but works great with a red dot scope. Without the scope, I tend to be a point and shoot type anyway, but its not an issue.
  14. Why not a rivet? I would assume he is trying to make it look like it wasnt converted, and there wouldnt be rivets on a factory pistol grip Saiga.
  15. Of course the proper number of parts are in it, doesnt everybody do that???? But it is nice to have the AGP mags for those who dont!
