  1. Alright, I got brave and decided to just round the sharp edges of the parts coming in contact and the safety engages fine now with no contact. I was doing some reading on the G2 FCG and swaps into Saiga rifles and it sounded like this was fairly common to run into.
  2. Ran into a bit of an issue after swapping out the FCG in my VEPR. I purchased the Tromix modified G2 setup, took everything apart, swapped out the factory FCG with the Tromix parts, but instead of using the Tromix Shepherd's crook I reused the factory Saiga axis pin retaining plate. When I went to engage the safety after swapping the FCG, I was unable to put it into "safe" because part of the safety lever that protruded lower was hitting the rear of the trigger, causing it to not be possible to engage. Luckily I was able to get it all back apart (which was more difficult because I reus
  3. They made you pay for shipping? You should call TGI and the seller about that. TGI sent me out a free FedEx shipping label. Their is a good chance Atlantic Firearms played a big part in expediting my warranty work/experience. TGI didn't handle my warranty work, so that's probably why. Who did? THE IMPORTER. WPA. COME ON! Well, you said it like it was some random other person. They should have still covered the shipping. Purchased from Mississippi Auto Arms, who directed me to contact SGM Tactical for warranty work, and was told to mail it to Mach 1 Arsena
  4. This may have been addressed elsewhere, but has the required US parts count been determined to start swapping out the factory parts? I got an email notification last week that the SGM hi cap mags were going to be shipping soon and I had wanted to swap my stock out as well.

  6. I got mine back this week after sending it in for warranty work to fix the canted sight. Came back fine. Turn around was reasonable - I think I got it back within 2 weeks of them receiving it and Thanksgiving was in there somewhere so... I was disappointed I had to ship a brand new, $1000+ firearm back and eat $30 on the shipping....but I got it fixed in a reasonable time so I'll move on with life and enjoy my badass shotgun.
  7. I received one of the VEPR's with a pretty severely canted rail...enough so that using a red dot optic probably wouldn't be an option. I was pretty disappointed, to be honest. We aren't talking about a $200 High Point here...when I buy a $1000 firearm, I expect basic things like this to be a non issue. How such a visible flaw could pass QC is beyond me, especially since the booklet that came with the gun had 2 or 3 "sign offs" by the QC department before shipping it out. I contacted the vendor I purchased it from, and they directed me to contact SGM Tactical, which I did. I received a pro
  8. There are certainly benefits to being a capitalist pig. Including ordering a NEW trigger guard tonight with the grip nut included, which I plan to have installed by next weekend...as long as the capitalist shipping system cooperates.
  9. Maybe I'm missing the obvious...but how does one cut a square hole? Maybe I'll just remove the trigger guard and swap in a different one and plug the holes. : /
  10. I bought a conversion kit that included a Tapco T6 side-folding stock, Hogue Monogrip, MD Arms trigger guard, Tapco G2 FCG with Tromix Shepherd's Hook, etc. My Saiga 12 is the IZ-109 model. This is my first conversion. I got everything apart fairly easily...no problems removing the sporter trigger/guard location. The MD Arms trigger guard has a single screw/nut holding on the back, and the drilling of two holes for the front is required...also did that with no problem. However, I didn't realize until I went to put the pistol grip on that there was no "provision" for it with th
  11. These prices are CRAZY! Never would have thought the S12 I bought last summer for $325 would have doubled or tripled in value before this summer. Wish I woulda bought two.
  12. I got one for sale. let me know. Mike im sent
  13. Looking to stock up on some ammo for my Saiga 12 that should be in my possesion within the next week...just wondering what people here shot. I was thinking target loads for just blasting around on the farm shooting at nothing in particular, for economy purposes. I have a decent amount of buckshot when I need more power, and I was thinking some slugs would extend the usable range of the weapon. What has been your success with each type of load? Did it shoot slugs accurately? It would be nice if I could be decently accurate out to 100 yds w/ slugs...I just don't know what to expect s
