  1. And the three mag parts count against that ten foreign parts total. I have yet to hear of anyone being found in violation of 922r. has anyome else heard of and action taken because of 922r? That all depends if you are using foreign or USA made mags. USA mags obviously wouldn't count as foreign lol. The point really isn't whether you have heard of anyone being prosecuted. The point is that the law is the law. I know this forum unequivocally abides and recommends abiding by the law.
  2. 1. Welcome to the forum. 2. No, you are not correct. The rifle is 14 parts total. Only 10 can be foreign if you want standard AK mags. 3. God invented punctuation for a reason. God must have forgot to give you something if you think the punctuation in the above sentence is correct you want the definition of the word invention? Is it me or did you just try to define punctuation by confusing it with definition? lol too funny. Ok, enough wasted time.
  3. you bet he did. and he gave me a brain to use punctuation

  5. mine does not have any such rivet, but it has no trigger slap either.
  6. Not to hijack this thread, but after reading this I am wondering if the European surplus mags from AIM will work in a SGL21 without modification? Sorry, still a AK and rifles in general newb. This makes no sense. The SGL21 comes with a standard ak mag and feeds flawlessly.
  7. Talk is cheap. I just don't buy it. Funny how you only had $450 in parts and now its $700. LOL
  8. $750??? And you didn't take it because??? lol. Good gun shops typically offer about 80% for trades. I am just not buying that your rifle is worth almost $950. Again a brand new Arsenal rifle is cheaper. 1+1 does not equal 3. No self conversion gun in .223 is going for $950 private sale.
  9. If you tried that with anything other than a Tromix S12 I am afraid you would get laughed out of the store. You can buy a brand new SGL-21 for $705 right now which is expensive. No way someone will give $800 or even $700 on a self-converted Saiga.
  10. Sounds like a great way to get shot. NY is trying to cut down on anyone carrying a gun.
  11. And you know this how? He has no data listed. Nalioth knows more than yoda do not question him! lol jk Ok but I do have to throw this out there. I just have to point out that you explained 922r wrong. Its confusing enough dont do more dmg. YOu said he needs 10 american made parts. You suggested surefire mags(3) parts + changing out 1 more = 4 not 10 american parts. Wich does not matter anyway because its 10 or less FOREIGN parts. I'm sure you have never done this, but it is called a typo. Thanks for correcting it. I didn't do more damage and it isn't that confusing. I f
  12. And you know this how? He has no data listed. Go ask your local gun dealer to get you a Saiga M3. They're not for sale in the USA. I just assumed that the OP didn't post the correct model, but yes I was aware the M3 is not imported.

  15. Welcome and congrats on the new toy. The majority of Saiga owners here have modified their rifle to accept standard AK mags. All you need to do is install a bullet guide and file the mag catch. If done correctly it function flawlessly. You should be able to find those instructions if you do a search or look around in the forum a bit. Please be aware that if you do this your rifle will not be legal. You will be in violation of the 922r. Your Saiga rifle has 14 Russian parts. To use high caps mags, 4 of these parts must be made in the USA. If you only use USA made mags, such as Tapco (questionab
  16. Oh and I forgot to add one thing. You can have a Saiga in .223 and x39 for less than the cost of the AR.
  17. You absolutely can hit a plate at 200 yards with a Saiga. You won't pull off a 2 inch group at that range, you could at 100 yards. Not sure where you heard this ban stuff, but I am not concerned about that particular aspect yet. It is just internet hysteria that isn't logical at this point in time. First of all, any gun/ammo ban is in committee right now. It has been for a few years. It wont just pop out of committee and be passed. It has to go throw the right channels and it hasn't even come close yet. Second, the reversal of the DC gun ban was a huge win for the 2nd Amendment. Many feel
  18. Dont buy the the grip with the bipod you linked. ITs el cheapo, get a gripod they will cost you about 50-60 bucks maybe more but its well worth it! better quality and warranty. The cheapo will break its ment for airsoft. ill pm you the item number and seller I got mine from. And actually I have to give credit to Gregm on that one he directed me to them as well. To the OP: Trust the "King of Melt". He would know and has the pics to prove it.
  19. I have always found it to evaporate much more quickly that Hoppes#9. I believe Rem has a higher water content. That is why it is so thin. I stick with Hoppes and believe its the best on the market. I've never used the Hoppes on anything, hows the smell? I can't stand the smell of the hoppes cleaner. Lol I know what you mean, but the oil isn't related. It has virtually no smell. It is thick and has a slight tint to it. It doesn't evaporate quickly.
  20. Lol Dinzag has the complete instructions on his site. You just have to look and read. I am not being a prick, but I just can't comprehend how hard it is to read. This is only my 84th post on this forum. I have owned a Saiga now for about 3 weeks. I am pretty much a newbie, but I figured out that most of the info I need to know about Saigas is written right here. All ya gotta do is read it. Im not special, an expert, or better than anyone. I just know how to read. There is a whole section on conversion and tons of threads forum wide about it. There is a feast of info here that you can fill yo
  21. LOL I wasn't aware this was a jr. high forum. nice troll sign. I did help. I point the OP back to his other thread he started where he basically asked the same question. There were excellent answers there. I do not know why he couldn't find them. The search feature is also an excellent tool to learn everything possible here. I also tried to strongly stop the OP from taking a saw to his Saiga and cutting it open and ruining the rifle as recommended by a drunk guy. I think those are both considered helping and have nothing to do with trolling. Great jr high graphic though. BTW, if the
  22. While I am not a drinker this made me laugh so hard. Thanks for the confession. Now you make total sense Good for you that I dont think he reads the threads he posts anyways.
  23. I don't even understand the first part of this statement. Pre-ban AK mags are still "regular AK mags". What are you talking about? You know exactly what I am talking about. I am not saying there is a difference between the two is design. I am saying the OP needs to be aware that any mag over 10 rounds he buys needs to be preban. He cannot just go out and get any regular AK mag. It has to be preban. His state claims the two are different. For what idiotic reason? Who knows.
  24. Lol I had sworn I remembered you asking this before. And yup I was right. What is wrong with the good guides that others members supplied in the other thread you started about this? I would have to say that you have not found a good guide because you didnt read the other thread you started. The drum mag and standard AK mag make no difference. They fit the same way. Being a NY resident you cannot buy regular AK mags anyway. You must buy preban mags after you convert your Saiga. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=48730&st=0&p=452276entry452276
  25. How is it even possible to have almost 400 posts on this forum and you give this ludicrous answer? Since when do you cut a Saiga mag well? Please do not pm this poster and get info. You will ruin your rifle. Your Saiga already takes double stacked mags.
