SOG was selling M1 rifles which they listed as imported from Korea, for around $450. I got one, it is in pretty horrible condition, probably a 60-70% gun, covered with cosmoline, many nicks on the stock, loose handguard, 10-15% bluing remaining. I haven't had time to inspect the bore, yet, just got a steamer to remove the cosmoline.

If you strip the horrible red lacquer paint, the wood is a nice blonde, many times arsenal marks make their appearance too.

There were two versions of the GSG-5, one had that small looking fake-suppressor on it, the other had the large thick one. Many of the original GSG-5 guns with the large fake-suppressor were recalled by GSG, due to NFA violation. Check your serial with their site: http://dealer.americantactical.us/gsg-recall You might check the barrel length on that rifle, it looks suspiciously short... though it may be an optical illusion, due to the fake-can being so thick.

Per which is better... Both look like good builds, I prefer neither of them. The tantal is nice, but I hate the "donkey-dick" handguard. The psuedo-sniper is nice, but I have a choate stock on one of my guns and I don't really like it.

My rule is never pay more than $2000 for a vehicle, then drive it till it dies a horrible death, then donate it to charity. Building an AR is surprisingly easy, the only hard part is assembling the lower receiver. I've done it three times, I think I'll buy assembled lowers from now on. I bought the ST-22 Pistol Plug from Spikes, good quality, I'd buy it again. I may upgrade my CMMG conversion kit to Spike's soon, his just seems a bit higher quality.
