  1. Good article on lubricants, what to use and when to use them; it is pretty long, otherwise I would have posted the whole thing here. Lubricants 101 by Grant Cunningham http://www.grantcunningham.com/lubricants101.html
  2. I've interviewed for many many companies, I can probably count on one hand how many times I was notified that I didn't get the job... and I didn't get most of them.
  3. Good thought, but the auction shows "# of bids" as one, there would be no reason for the seller to make the only bid, when he could just re-list the auction for free, plus the Opening Bid was $1395 which is probably the minimum he would take for it.
  4. No clue what your field is, I'd consider writing them an email thanking them for the interview. Most people don't do this any more and it may impress them and hopefully remind them to get back to you. Also remember that a lot of companies can't be bothered with turning people down, they just leave people hanging. Something like...
  5. Thanks everyone! I've done plenty of commerce mailing guns via FFL, but just was ignorant of this.
  6. I was discussing this with a buddy, the other day and couldn't find a concise answer to the question. Can I ship a firearm to myself in a different state? Assuming that the firearm is a legal gun in both states. I know you have to do a transfer if you ship to another party, but could I ship it to me? The question came up when talking about it being a hassle to deal with the airlines and not wanting to risk special TSA treatment or even random (incorrect) seizure due to trying to fly with a firearm.
  7. Swipe the ambi-safety and send it home
  8. When I was 12 or 13 my father and I went back to the house he used to live at, in St. Louis, with the current owner. Dad looked through the attic for about 30 minutes in hopes of finding his father's old guns, no luck, unfortunately. He thankfully still has his father's old pump gun, I think it is a Winchester.
  9. Looks like a good deal, if I had the cash I'd be all over it. You might try cross posting at Virginia Gun Owners Forum, I've had good luck selling stuff locally there; I'm in Manassas.
  10. Holy crap that's nice! Too bad I don't have the $$ for it.
  11. Damn, great story! This is truly the reason to buy American parts, when you can!
  12. You're doing it wrong... You don't need to remove any screws to remove the stock. Watch this video.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng_Kdn3JQDQ
  13. Please post a picture of the gun I can't see it *wink* Seriously though, it looks like you did a really nice job.
  14. Greg at Carolina Shooter Supply sells a wide variety of bolt-on stocks. http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-STOCKS-dsh-SAIGA-FACTORY-SETUP/Categories Honestly, you're probably going to be a lot happier converting, especially if you're thinking about CQB and what not, because converting your gun does increase the ergonomic quality considerably. If you can answer YES to this question, you can convert your self: Can you use basic hand tools? Seriously
  15. I could only find this one on gunbroker .. though I didn't look very hard. It is listed as a mini-14/30 stock. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=178169720 What kind of stock do you currently have?
  16. Wait .. a shotgun which anyone can buy offers an unfair advantage ... um ... am I missing the logic?
  17. This is the For Sale/Trade section, he's just selling a kit, if you want it buy it. Tomcat, $55 is a great deal on this kit, especially with the handle, both TATs and the flash hider!
  18. I got two things to say: Am I being detained? Am I free to go?
  19. If you really think you need help, take a road trip down to Manassas, VA, I'll help you out; just make sure you have your 922r parts. Seriously though, if you can use basic hand tools, you should be competent enough to do it your self. Just be sure to buy the parts from one of our sponsors For the basic conversion you can do: Fire Control Group - Reduces foreign your part count to 11 Muzzle Brake - Reduces your foreign part count to 10 922r is 10 or fewer foreign made parts. You'll probably want to get a pistol grip and buttstock as well, which will reduce your foreign m
  20. ------------------------------------------------ Public Service Message ------------------------------------------------ Here's a list of numbers taken so far, this may not be 100% accurate as this includes numbers from people who may have been disqualified, because they didn't read or couldn't figure out the extremely simple rules. Note that there are five numbers at the end of the list which are greater than 10000, if you picked one of these, you may want to edit your post. There are also duplicates in here, several people have selected numbers which were already picked. 1 - 2 -
  21. Everyone looks in the WTB section, can this thread be locked?
  22. There is a hairline fracture on the charging handle side of the gun, below is a high quality (2.5MB) image with the damage highlighted. http://jobson.us/vz-52/DSCI1135.JPG
  23. I'd love to keep it, but honestly, I'm not going to be getting to the project for a few years. I'll probably wind up using the cash toward my Korean import M1, which is in 75-80% condition.
