  1. Cool! There are no visible cracks nor arsenal repairs.
  2. I remember seeing your icon before, just kind of forgot about it, till you responded. Sorry making you wait, I actually just got home about an hour ago; had to move some junk and blah blah blah. Here's the link, I took a bunch of shots: http://jobson.us/vz-52/ The thumbnails are very small around 20-40k, the full size images are huge, around 2-3MB, I wanted to leave them that large, so you could see the detail. The stamp on the side shows, it is in one of the pics, but a bit hard to make out. AYM 029 (cross swords) 56 Let me know if you want any other pics. The safety is
  3. It is rare, but you can get it... kind of thing you buy a hundred rounds and reload them, if you can find a die set 7.62x45 Czech - 15rd @ $20 http://www.buymilsurp.com/762x45-czech-15rd-no-strippers-p-41584.html 7.62x45 Czech. 4. Yes sir, I'll post an update tonight, I'm at work now. Actually, one of the reasons I bought it was because of the scope mount, I'd never seen one, either. Since you're interested, I'll strip it down and get some good pics of it. I didn't say it in the post, but the price is definitely negotiable
  5. I've got a thread all about Loctite! http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=54761 Red loctite holds at 300 degrees, but you will also need to use hand tools to remove it. Unless you're turning your brake in a vice while shooting, you shouldn't have any issues CSS sells a barrel nut, which you can use, if your brake doesn't line up properly. There is a lot of variance in how these shotguns were manufactured, so, sometimes your brake won't be 100%. http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-495/CHAOS-SAIGA-12-BARREL/Detail
  6. Will post pictures tonight. I've got a Czech VZ-52 rifle chambered in 7.62x45, which I don't have time to mess with; I bought it as kind of a project gun to work on, but now I have an M1 which I'm much more interested in messing with. There is 7.62x39 conversion, but I can't find any info on it. The good: 5 Parkerized Magazines, purchased later. 1 Original Mag with some surface rust Bayonet is in great shape and functions perfectly, I actually replaced the original bayonet which was in bad shape at best. Barrel is threaded and still has original thread cover, no clue what the th
  7. 7.62x54R cartridges fit in Finnish Lahti Saloranta LMG 20 round magazines, they'd definitely have to be modified to fit in a PSL, might be a good project.
  8. Leave your post up for a bit, you'll probably get a bite
  9. My buddy has a WASR that is screwed up, the trigger has so much over travel that at least one out of every mag winds up being a double tap. I told him to to shoot it, until we can strip it down and fix it.
  10. Thanks for your hard work KC! I'm sure managing a group buy is a PITA!
  11. I think I have more guns than everyone of my friends, combined. Though, I have done NICS checks on less than half of them.
  12. Okay .. this may work... Get your golf ball and epoxy a fishing line to it. Goto a field and shoot the ball off, at the same time start the timer. When the ball hits the ground, stop the timer. Pull the line back and measure it. Then you can find the approximate feet per second
  13. I don't think any of our sponsored vendors sell the Choate one, you can order it directly from Choate, they have them on their site listed under SKS for some reason.
  14. Now that would be cool as hell, Bob......Slo-mo !! Might try renting a high speed camera, if he doesn't have one. They're pretty steep to buy, but rental shouldn't be too crazy... besides, Tromix could take it as write off
  15. You did a nice job on that one! $50 is certainly a steal for a custom modified piece.
  16. I skimmed the thread and was briefly confused, until I read it more thoroughly. The profile image that this 'Rabid Robert' guy is using is misleading and his attitude makes a false bad impression of GoGun. I'm voting for Moderator review, as this thread has gone way off topic and can easily be improperly interpreted.
  17. Got mine on Monday, thanks Mike. Patience pays off!
  18. Sorry bro. Unlike the fed, most Virginia Laws aren't written to trick you into breaking them.
  19. THANKS I CAN READ! There is one sentence, not two, just like the Second Amendment. Again, the Saiga 12 is NOT of like kind to the street sweeper; the law is specifically for streetsweeper type shotguns. Read the damn title: § 18.2-308.8. Importation, sale, possession or transfer of Striker 12's prohibited; penalty. What are you missing?
  20. I've got a buddy who has one, he's kind of an over the top character, so it fits. He attached one of the LaserLyte pistol bayonets to it, blade up, to make it even more ridiculous; he says, "You know you're too drunk, when you stab your eye out."
  21. The law was written specifically for the Striker or other "street sweeper type shotguns". If you want the facts, read the actual law. The Saiga 12 shotgun is NOT of like kind as the Striker 12. If the law said "any shotgun", yes, the Saiga 12 would count, the fact is that it doesn't. http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?000+cod+18.2-308.8
  22. I've said it before and I'll say it again ... 922r is most simply 10 or fewer foreign made parts... but you've got that Use my handy site to figure out your compliance. http://jobson.us/922r/ I'm not sure about NY compliance, move to VA
  23. You could theoretically put a tapco stock on it, but it is considerably shorter than the standard stock and the ergonomics would be horrible, since the tapco stock isn't really designed to shoot like that. Maybe this... http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-491/RAAC-SAIGA-12-RIFLES/Detail Honestly, if you're thinking about converting it, don't bother buying that stock, just convert it. If you can use basic hand tools fairly proficiently, you should have no problems.
