  1. Hi guys, been awhile. What low profile scope mounts are available these days for the side rail mount? I've about talked myself into a .308 and want to start putting together a "goody" bag to accessorize it. I just have a disdain for high mounts as I will not be using iron sights. Thanks for the help.
  2. LM, is that mount a hi-rise see under type? I saw it on the Aim site myself and wondered about it. Is it all aluminum? Thanks for any answers! Mike
  3. I hunt shotgun only land which is fine for now but when turkey season ends I'm going to try some yote calling. It has dawned on me that the Saiga 410 maybe the best thing for this (extended range). What kind of accuracy can I expect from a scoped Saiga? I own a 7.62x39 16" rifle but am not familiar with the shotgun line. I have a heavy, loud and hard kicking 12 guage slug gun for deer but something a little easier on me would be nice when not necessary to beat myself up with recoil. Thanks for any help or advice. AK
  4. Just got a reply from CDNN. No Saiga 12's in stock and none on the way. No longer imported (atleast not yet from what I read here).
  5. I just e-mailed CDNN but don't know if I can wait for a response. I might try giving them a call. Wonder if they are open on Saturdays? Does anywhere's else have Saigas?
  6. I need a dremel! Although I too would leave a little more metal on it. Cool still.
  7. The 10 rounder that comes with the rifle kinda gets in the way when I carry it across my back with a standard should sling when hunting. Is there a lower capacity less obtrusive mag available? Maybe a 3 or 5 round capacity? Mike
  8. Barrel length makes no difference in accuracy of a scoped rifle EXCEPT that a shorter, therefore stiffer barrel has the potential to be more accurate. If your gonna shoot iron sights the longer barrel will help some but not any huge amount. Go 16" for ease of carry on them there oinkers. IMO
  9. I'm thinking maybe the 19" screw choke model with a rifled choke and scope mount for deer and predator hunting (slug only hunting area). Then the same shotgun minus the scope and mount (less wieght for long walks), with the full choke for spring turkey season or modified choke for runnin' gray squirrels Sound about right or do I need a longer barrel and is there a screw choke model with the longer bbl? Also, where are the rifled choke tubes you guys talk about available from? Any other suggestions for hunting season have me all ears. Thanks. Mike
  10. Seems CDNN is always out and the ones I see on ebay are overpriced and want to rip me a new one with shipping charges. Who has them for sale reasonable? AK
  11. Everybody seems to be temporarily out of stock for this type of scope mount. I want the low style mount and weaver rail for changing from red dots to scopes. Mike
  12. Also, check out gunbroker.com and look for 'Tactical Supply'. I just bought a 7.62 Saiga from them for under $200 new. I was very impressed with their service. Tell them Mike in Autaugaville sent you. I don't know them personally but do like the honest way they do business. E-mail them and they will hook you up if they don't happen to have one on auction right then. AK
  13. Check out ebay. Beware, there is a guy there that sells Saiga mounts and will bid on his own items to get another dollar out of you. If he wins the item you will immediately recieve a "second chance" bid to buy the item because the "other" buyer was unable to complete the purchase. I refused to give him a single dollar more just for the principal of the thing. AK
  14. Longer barrels are more accurate. If your shooting open sights. With two equal barrels one being shorter than the other, the shorter barrel is stiffer and thus more accurate. If longer barrels are more accurate then match grade rifles would be showing up with 40" barrels. They don't. They are thicker instead which also helps with heat distortion. Mike
  15. Just wondering if any of you guys tried your hand at a dove shoot or quail flush with an AK shotgun. How did it go? Mike
