  1. man thats about 3 hours from me. i wish i had the cash as it would be nice to have a little peice of land. I wish they would show views from the 2 points of the land to see how much actual flat land to the property and a view from each lower corner up to higher points.
  2. I was reviewing Kel teks web page and in the FAQ section they say the life expectancy is 6,000 rounds or more. Man being used to glocks and ak's where 6,000 is just the break in period concerns me. i realize that they probably need to say that for the lawyers but it would be nice if they gave a higher round count up front. i could burn through 6 k in a matter of months. Especially with 22 wmr. wish i had the cash to do a torture test.
  3. The kel tek pmr-30 looks like a fun gun to add to the collection and if they are going to put out a carbine conversion for it then its a no- brainier. sweet!!!!! too many guns so little money. man i have to get another job.
  4. I am with you... watching the bolt bounce on the receiver.... how long before something breaks or gets worn down?

  6. thanks cobra. i figured as much but hey a man could dream. I wander what it would take to do that kind of conversion. I would like to see if it would be any more accurate?
  7. i wander if you could convert to a 6.5 x 55. with just a bolt and barrel? would bullet fit in the 308 mags?
  8. i saved the pic still couldn't see if the bullet guide was installed. never the less you are right sir the bullet is in the chamber and the bolt is on top of the bullet. Still i would insure there is a bullet guide as they really are a necessary mod. for reliability and convenience. next take the cover of and pull charging handle back and release to watch what happens with the round while using the galil mag. It most certainly appears as though the mag may be sitting low. Nothing can really be ascertained without watch what happens to the round while trying to charge it. try finding a mag
  9. now that is one sweet looking weapon. I have been yearning for a .308 again. I would be interested in what the felt recoil and accuracy are like . I have a 6.5 x 55 Swedish Mauser and if this bull pup could equal long distance shots then it would be worth a long look. Plus the ammo would be much more affordable. I wish there was a bigger market for the 6.5 x 55 to bring the price of ammo down. I really like that round.
  10. no i meant you were such an advocate of the intrafuse hand guard and now you are switching to the k-var hand guards. The worst sin though you are going to an AR as your go to gun and .223 at that!!! just pulling your chain
  11. so why did you decide to go with the ak style hand guards?
  12. i think the cheapest thing to do first would be to install a bullet guide...vey easy to do.... You will need it anyways and if you still decide to go with a surefire mag then you can trim the mag to work...also not a big mod to do. then look at how the mag sits if the problem persists. http://www.dinzagarms.com/downloads/223_mag_options.pdf
  13. i think you are right about it being a DPH product.
  14. FAB/Mako has been selling a shock absorbing stock for AR's and AK's for time now. I am sure one can teach themselves controlled shoulder mounted bump fire and its a ton cheaper. I feel bump fire (although fun) is impractical and waste of ammo even it would be somewhat controlled. double and even triple taps seem More practical and would achieve better results. JMHO cheapest i have come across "natchezss" decent example of what i am talking about....about 50 seconds into it...nice rapid controlled fire. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc0yPzif-Xk&feature=player_embedded#!
  15. i was wandering if any one put this on a k-var hand guard. it looks like it doesn't seat flush with the polymer. the tabs on the metal portion that the retainer fits on may have to be filed down some. I am going to wait to get some more info. It just might be the way the k-var hand guards fit. anyone?
  16. kind of looks like dinzags. I went with http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=60870 for now to see how it would work. My only issue is front sling attachment point. I don't really want to put a sling stud in the front hand guard (k-var) so i was thinking about something on the gas tube but haven't figured it out yet. I am still going to try some various mods to the stock hand guard and who knows i might just stick with it and then my worries would be over.
  17. i was thinking something similar worried about twisting gas block. the way these things are built it shouldn't. 2 other thoughts 1. para cord around gas block in between barrel and tube insertion point...concern heat cooking para cord? 2. mount a sling attachment on the rear of the lower handguard...concern getting in the way of grip/reloads..and would attachment be strong enough in the polymer.
  18. if you do find the link I would appreciate a Pm. thanks
  19. OK guys without the sling loop on the retainer what suggestions do you have for 2 point sling attachment on front of weapon?
  20. Toshbar i ordered one as well I am going to give it a try with my .223 and a k=-var hand guard. My .223 barrel doesn't have side groves on the barrel so if it works then i may do the same with the 7.62. I am trying to figure out where i am going to put the sling right now. I really like the side mount of the original retainer but this will not provide that so i am looking for a different method right now. I am also trying to buy stock OEM hand guards from anyone on the forum to try some mod ideas.
  21. Now that is sharp. where did you find it? any links?
  22. bigstang here is a pic of the notches or groves i am talking about. they can be seen in the first few seconds of the video. My .223 doesn't have them. I am considering using this retainer. still have to make notch on top of barrel. anyone have any experience with this retainer? http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=32501/Product/?mc_id=100500&gdftrk=gdfV21820_a_7c187_a_7c1563_a_7c997000010_d_997000010_d_5001&avad=avant
  23. bigstang, my camera was broken during my recent relocation. My .223 barrel is smooth from stem to stern except for the various steps of barrel thickness. My 7.62 has the side notches or groves for the lower retainer.
