  1. I have a Saiga 308 and a PTR 91, where did you guys sell yours? I'm trying to sell mine.
  2. I covered the charging handle with a piece of rubber tubing that I painted black with a permanent marker. Easier on the fingers too. I covered the edges of the ejection port with layers of electrical tape. Voila - no dings.
  3. The G2 trigger should have a sleeve that keeps it in place; it should not fall through. And yes, you'll have to grind down the whale's head hump on the hammer. Take your time, don't overdo it. Use a dremel, it's much easier. Also polish it in that spot when you're done, it functions better.
  4. Good post, I agree. To expand upon your point about the 308 vs. the 7.62 and follow it to its logical conclusion, if carrying more rounds is all-important, then make a Ruger 10/22 your MBR as you can carry 2,000 rounds rather easily. Of course, you won't kill anything, but hey, at least you'll have a lot of rounds, right?
  5. I cycled my ammo through my surefires yesterday - worked great. Haven't fired them yet though, too cold outside.
  6. You can knock the pins out, but from what I hear it's a bear of a job doing it.
  7. Don't be afraid of conversion. Many of us including me know nothing about gunsmithing and were able to convert the Saiga with regular tools. It is NOT that difficult.
  8. Do a conversion and get away from the standard trigger. Get a Tapco G2 trigger and do the grinding/polishing of the hammer yourself. It's satisfying to get that perfect feel of your trigger by doing it yourself, and the Tapco is much cheaper than the RSA. I had zero experience as a gunsmith and I converted mine to a PG/new trigger without any trouble.
  9. You're referring to an outdated sniper doctrine. You need to read this book. This marine sniper in Iraq War II changed the sniper doctrine forever.
  10. Received mine also. Haven't tested them.
  11. This way you can get 21 rounds in your gun.
  12. You're obviously unfamiliar with the Bonus Army, where our own Army commanded by MacArthur and Patton, attacked and killed many veterans who were peacefully marching on Washington in search of their promised bonuses because they were starving during the Great Depression. You're also unfamiliar with the Battle of Athens in Tennessee. Ever heard of Ruby Ridge? How about Waco, Texas? Ken Ballew? During Hurricane Katrina's aftermath, armed government officials went door to door confiscating guns and arresting people. An elderly grandmother was wrestled to her own kitchen floor. Th
