Well an AK purist would puke if he saw my X39 I guess. But I make mods to my gun based on what WORKS. I don't care if it looks like the illegitimate spawn of a AR and AK. I wanted the lightest, most effective fighting gun I could build. I converted the rifle first and then started doing the research, I found that the existing X39 bolt will work with just a tad trimmed from the extractor. The mags are 6.5G mags from CProducts: http://www.cproductsllc.com/shop/index.php?cPath=22 The magwell is an original ORF unit. The match grade barrel I had made by Pac-Nor, Will from Red Jacket Installed it, I don't know how large he made the gas port. Its a little over gassed, but I think I'm going to put in a stronger spring. I haven't shot it that much to be honest. It's ended up being a safe queen.

There's another thread about the best sight for a Saiga 12. I was curious on how the glass on that sight compares to the Eotech and how the target acquisition is with that sight on the S12. I'm on my quest to find the best sight for the Saiga 12 and I saw this thread pop up last night. Apples and oranges. The Eotech is a lot more expensive, has better glass, and I like the dot in the donut better. However, the Burris is less expensive, super small and light, works well with AK's, as in easier to mount/check weld etc. , and co-witnesses.

Paladin, Do you use it with a detachable side mount? No, I have a picatinny rail over my gas tube.

I use the FastFire on my S12, haven't had any problems with it.

It seems to me the only practical course of action is to try to reduce the odds of transmission to others. If I'm sick, the last thing I want or need is my wife or kids to get sick too! Seems like just plain common sense.

OK, first, my rifle has all that crap on it because it was a joke pic I posted elsewhere. Now on to your questions: 1) Red jacket installed the adapter and it is tack welded in. There was minimal fitting involved. 2) Since it was a custom build for 6.5 Grendel caliber, it was never intended to be removed. So I can't answer that question. 3) The rail on the gas tube is a modified UTG. I did alot of grinding and fitting to make it work.

WTF? I have tried all the settings and after I select the file and hit upload it tells me no file was selected when I can see the file in the box!? Edit- I tried to upload a different pic and it worked, I'll have to try and take another pic of the adapter with a different camera, perhaps its the camera format?
