  1. My dealer just called me. My new Saiga 12 just came in today!! Weee!! I can't wait for lunch time to get it...
  2. Aren't the UTG handguard asembly made in Russia? I remember reading someplace that those rails/handguards don't help your parts count. Check into that if its something to consider.
  3. At this stage in the game, I would buy a Saiga 12 from anyone who offered one up for sale even if its used. Beggers can't be choosers anymore. I think I was lucky to order mine early last month (still waiting for it to arrive, paid it off last week). If you see one, just buy it without worrying if it doesn't meet your perfect set of specifications. I would gladly pay up to 500 at this point. If I was really wanting one, I would probably even pay up to 550 for one. 100 bux isn't all that much in the grand scheme of things.
  4. So why do so many people here pay to have conversions done? I still haven't gotten my Saiga yet but when i get it, I want to convert mine. I have built 5 AKs so far out of parts kits (including one rebarrel), are there going to be any surprises when converting a Saiga?
  5. Never heard anything bad about Will or Redstick. Everyone in the AK community who has used him appears to love his work.
  6. Yes, you can, BUT the good stuff will be gone if the good stuff had reasonable prices during the show. If you want a WASR 10 ak47 and one dealer has them for 499, then they won't sell them and if you ask for a deal at the end of the show, you getting it for 450 isn't really a great deal however if they sell it for 399 during the show and still have one at the end, if you could score it for 350, then that woudl be a decent deal. So just because something is still for sale at the end of the show doesn't mean that you can get it for a good deal even if the dealer cuts you a "good deal".
  7. Sadly those days ar e long gone of the cheap kits. Kits are now around 110 dollars (generic Romanian g kits) and go up to 500-800 dollars for the rare high end kits (krinks/ak74s/etc).
  8. Thats how it is with me. Funny thing is that I have never hunted a day in my life. I don't even know if I could actually kill an animal. I sure love to eat them though!
  9. LOL. Nahhh. I Have a OCD problem. Once I get into a hobby, I end up with this weird "collector" mentality and need to get as many of whatever hobby I'm in to make myself feel complete. For example, I got into gas powered R/C cars once. So after 6 months, I ended up with 5 of the same model gas powered car each one slightly different with different mods. Same with electric trains, I collect them over many years. Computers, I have more computers and laptops than you can shake a stick at. So when it came to AK47s, I discovered all the different types and just went nuts on buying k
  10. Very true. I remember kicking myself in the butt for not buying beautiful AK47s for 125-150 dollars in the early early 90's just after the Bush sr ban. Then once the Clinton ban hit, all was lost. For the first time in my life, I have some extra money to have a bit of fun with so I'm doing it. I think I bought about 19 AK47 kits in the least year since I started buying guns for the first time. I have built 5 of them so far and will be buying a bunch of receivers for them as well soon. I don't want to be "wishing I did that" in the future. I also have been buying as much ammo as i
  11. Don't hate the player my friend......... Just be sure your registered to vote. Take the power back bro! Yup, thats whom I'm going to vote for. I hope he makes a huge splash and is the next Reagen style president. We need a strong conservative president who can speak well and communicate well with his people.
  12. You freaking guys are costing me money. I'm trying my darnest to get a saiga 12 and in the next 2 months will hopefully be 2 20 round drums and then a couple of 10 round mags. I hate you guys. All because I'm getting scared of not being able to ever get tthem in the future.
  13. I will. Ik now that he has been having some issues with the Gallery and I will find out what to do.
  14. I've got it saved on my puter. I'll see if I can upload it. shit...oh well, super mod powers did no good. It looked like it was doing something for ten minutes or so and then nuthin'... Maybe someone could link to it? What happened to the original post? Then the one that was reposted later upon request? Damn that PJ's A BAD MF on the trigger! How big is the file? If its under 20 megabytes, you can upload it here: http://www.q45.org/gallery2/ Its my buddy's website and he has the gallery setup to allow people to be able to upload random stuff without having to sign
  15. Funny thing about trying to acquire one of these guns, its a lot like when I was trying to acquire my Romak 3/PSL a few months back. They would pop up available on rare occasions and be almost impossible to buy without them going out of stock almost right away.
  16. I am not sure about what kind of terms you were planning with the Atlantic layaway plan but I'm only going to be having it on layaway for about one more week. I wonder if thats why they were willing to work with me. As for Gilbert's, when I talked to them on Tuesday, they said that they did have 3 of the IZ107s in stock (the 24 inch barrel models). I wanted the 19 inch barrel model which is why I went to Atlantic. Do you know if you got the 109 or the 107?
  17. I put a IZ109 on layaway at Atlantic Firearms today. I will pay it off in about a week or 2 hopefully. The remaining one at Gilbert's Guns was gone today when I went to buy it. Gilbert's Guns did have 3 of the IZ107 (the long barreled version) though but it sounds like that the shorter barreled version is more desirable.
  18. Now is this one from Gilberts Guns the desirable one? The one with the options that most people desire? I don't know anything about the different types of Saiga 12s, didn't even know that there was more than one model.
  19. Thanks for the links!! I shall have to give them a call tomorrow. I wonder how much shipping might be.
  20. Found the links to the drum. Looks very inviting. Price seems to be very reasonable. What are the chances of the ATF ever declaring the drum a DD? Would we be grandfathered in? Any links to Gilberts Guns by any chance?
  21. Hi Everyone, I have been in the Ak community for a while now building AKs and generally having fun. I have been wanting a Saiga 12 now for a while. My local gun shop had one in stock on the shelf about 3 weeks ago during the short time period when I had NO gun money. I saw it, I held it, I fondled it and I fell in love. I then got my gun money the other day and go back and sure enough, long gone. I then asked about getting another one, the owner said "almost impossible, i can take a refundable deposit but no guarantees on when it will arrive if ever". So I gave him 100 dolla
