  1. My 16" 308 is not hugely accurate. Corrosive S&B gives round 2.5-3" groups at 100 yards. Cleaning corrosive is not a deal breaker for me. The only other load that is remotely close to that is 150 gr. Remington Core-Lokt,(green and yellow box). I am still working up reloads to improve accuracy. vorpal
  2. Are you located in N.Y. state? I know of an available 12 ga. but it's face to face in N.Y. only. vorpal
  3. I've used 43.2 grains of Reloader 15 behind a 150 grain, (.311) P.P. fmjbt in a Winchester case with CCI magnum primers. http://www.grafs.com/product/246050 vorpal
  4. These rings will cure the problem of not enough scope adjustment. http://www.opticsplanet.net/burris-riflesc...ture-rings.html I needed them on an SKS and a Saiga. I actually had to use the maximum offset front and rear to correct the Saiga elevation problem. It may appear complicated but is much cleaner and easier than screwing around with shims. YMMV. vorpal
  5. Overall cartridge length may vary. Obviously your completed round has to fit into the magazine. My particular Saiga prefers the round to be loaded as long as possible. If you were loading a .308 cartridge for a model 98 Mauser you could stretch the oal and it would still cycle and feed fine in that rifle, but would not fit into a Saiga Mag. vorpal
  6. Thanks for the heads up, but I think I'll pass. It was not that long ago that they were asking stupidly high prices for their x39 ammo. I expect other vendors will be trending down on price as well. My impression is that things aere freeing up a bit. I was able to buy some CCI 34s this a.m. at Powder Valley. Shop around. As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't buy a bucket of water from CTD if my ass was on fire. vorpal
  7. I used Burris Pos-Align ring and it worked fine. I had to use the +20/-20 set. Very nice product. I got them here: http://www.opticsplanet.net/burris-riflesc...ture-rings.html Take care, vorpal
  8. I hear ya' Mike. But my Dad used to say,"Gettin' old sure beats the alternative!" All the best. vorpal
  9. I bought this stock from them in December '08. They were in business at that time. vorpal
  10. Thanks for the update. I know that you have a lot of time and effort invested in this. I hope you get a decent return on it. Take care. vorpal
  11. Welcome to you, RalphXL. I'm about an hour north of you. It sounds like you may have been to Herbs! I don't have a .223, but do have a .308 and a 7.62x39. If you get a .223 you may want to check out the mag adapters that are just now becoming available from Magnolia State Armory. They have a presence on this board. The adapter is about $100 but it allows you to use AR15 mags in the Saiga. There are still good quantities of pre-ban AR mags around. I'm using Hungarian 20's and 30's in my Saiga and they work without a bullet guide. I've made the guide, just have been too lazy to install i
  12. Very nice. Thanks for posting. Do you have the model number of the sight that you used? vorpal
