  1. I'm seeing some of these markings on Saiga 308s on gunbroker.com. It looks like the original import stamp was scratched off and new companies are etched in. Are these recent imports? I notice they don't have the trigger style that has the cross pins drilled closer to the butt stock. These look like the older style with a very long trigger (which happen to be easier to convert). "Fine Group"? U.S. Sporting Goods Inc
  2. There is a no-cost solution: remove the dust cover.
  3. Yeah and this genius not only necro-posts something from 5 years ago, he does it just to add a non-working link.
  4. Edited: Oops this is in Colombia not Mexico. Residents look at weapons confiscated by police and displayed in a suburb in Medellin June 8, 2009. At least 55 rifles and 141 cartridges were confiscated by members of the police during a raid on a local criminal gang known as Los Paisas in Taraza Antioquia province. Children stand next to weapons displayed by police on June 8, 2009, in Medellin, Antioquia department, Colombia. The Colombian police seized in the Bajo Cauca, Antioquia department, 2 Steyr AUG-A1 assault rifles (top), 141 magazines of different calibers and 53 AK-47 assault
  5. My .308 Saiga slugged out to .3105. Is that normal? By comparison my Russian Izhmash Tiger in 7.62x54R slugged to .312. BTW the steps I took was to plug the barrel about 2 inches from the muzzle, poured in the molten Cerrosafe and popped it out after it cooled. Several hours later it shows this reading.
  6. So I finally got around to getting Cerrosafe so I can find out my bore and chamber dimension on my stuff. My .308 Saiga slugged out to .3105. Is that normal? By comparison my Russian Izhmash Tiger in 7.62x54R slugged to .312. BTW the steps I took was to plug the barrel about 2 inches from the muzzle, pour in the molten Cerrosafe and popped it out after it cooled. It's now 9 hours later and measured on the raised portion of the rifling.
  7. Stock is my preferred set up as well.
  8. Why cut all the way down to 16"? You might be just as happy with an 18" barrel.
  9. I just found these: http://triadtactical.com/?mainURL=%2Fstore...egory_id%3Da01f I think they look exactly like what I'm looking for.
  10. How far down do the mags sink? I'm looking for something that mimics how a 30 round mags sits in a 30 round pouch (but for the 8 round mag of course)

    Mag pouches?

EDIT: OOOPS, Nevermind, I see a similar post just below mine. I like the idea of these Russian SVD mag pouches but am looking for something MOLLE compatible http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=22465
  12. I actually searched but did not see an answer to this question. What are my options for synthetic forend/lower hand guard for a .308 Saiga? Mine has the wood, I want synthetic, nothing fancy, rails, etc not neccessary, just don't want wood. Will standard AK HG's fit or be made to fit? Mine looks like this:
