  1. I was afraid I was gonna get one of those suggestions from you guys! I will check with the girlfriend and see if she has the thicker ones for heavy flow days. LOL Just trying to help.
  2. This one might work. The AR15 boys like em.
  3. Pushing the handle forward on the rail allows me to clear the magazine. Not sure what I will do for a better solution, but for now I can still use the rail and grip.
  4. Sweet. That was easy. Thanks jhereq!
  5. WARNING: Hey I was playing around with my rifle a bit more and came across a little problem. I've always wondered "Why the hell does that AK grip angle forward like that?". Well I just found out the hard way. 30 round mags don't fit into the gun very well when the straight grip like the one I installed is pushed back close to the receiver. I have to slide the grip forward or cut it down shorter to allow the mags to fit into place. This really blows! I guess this is why the forums are so nice....let the other guy f*ck it up.
  6. Anyone know how to find out what year my Saiga was MFG?
  7. Thanks guys. My father-in-law has a nice compressor tank - so I think I will give that a try. I've got a can of break free and will hit that first, then when it dries out hit it with the air tank.
  8. That is one of the reason's I used Tapco. They had almost everything I needed in stock. The only thing they didn't carry was the bullet guide. They also ship fast. I got my orders within 3 days of placing them.
  9. What methods do you guys use to clean out your rifle after griding/filing/polishing/dremmeling inside the receiver? I sprayed a shitload of a gun solvent and was letting it run all over and still seem to have a lot of metal inside. (I had to grind down and then polish the Tapco hammer to get the bolt to slide forward properly.) The gun cleaner I was using is pretty expensive to use up in one shot clearing out all that crap from inside my rifle. aaaaahhhhhhh.....
  10. That is funny. I really butchered by first trigger guard. The weld was a b!tch to get through and I got impatient. My next one was better. It is still a tough to get the trigger guard press into place while putting the screw in with the other hand.
  11. I think you will be happy with your Saiga. Welcome.
  12. I definitely understand your frustration. I would be more pissed at the vendor who sold you the Surefire mags. A quick browsing of the forums will show that only the stock Saiga Mags will work in a Stock Saiga. You need the bullet guide to get high capacity mags to feed properly. There are a bunch of vendors on Gunbroker who are selling the Siaga's with the high capacity mags and really have no idea that won't work (or really don't care). These are the guys who should be hearing it from you. A few years back a ban was put in place to keep out the "evil AK-47's". Russian made AK's
  13. I'm not an expert, but I think you need the bullet guide. Standard AK mags don't have the high lip in the front that the Saiga factory mags do. The guide brings up the lip of the rifle up to the same level that it would be with the Saiga magazine inserted. See the location where the arrows are pointing. This is with the bullet guide installed.
