I went to a local pawn shop today....they had a Saiga 762x39 for sale...it had the aftermarket Saiganov style stock..plus several mags/scope mount with cheap scope....the asking price was $450.00...just would like some imput on if thats a fair price...to me seems a little pricey..but not an expert in that area...would appreciate..any imput....

I am looking for a POSP scope with SVD mount...need one that is calibrated for 7.62x54,,,,,

It's just the clamping (bottom) portion of the mount. It should just swap with the clamping mechanism that's already there. Larry Yeah, that is what I understood it to be. Does it raise the scope any higher off the top of the receiver? Is it the AK mount? And does it slide on from the front or the back? My SVD mount slides on from the front. My problem is I cant get my scope to clear the receiver from the front. Those 8x42 scopes are huge. I think the rail placement on the Saiga is a bit lower then that on the Romak PSL. Even with the new recoil pad...the stock is short...scope seems to be ok for me....this saiga clamp.....is it...an adapter you can use to change the scope mount.....

I have mounted a draganov type 6x scope in my Saiga 308 using an ADM adapter obtained from Kalinka optics ( note very prompt service I must comment)...the only thing negative is that once u remove SVD bottom from scope and put on the ADM adapter..it does not have as many mounting points as the SVD bottom...but it seems to snug up all aright....I check it out further when I take it to the range in the spring..if a problem....some locktite should correct the problem..one other thing...the AKM adapter would not slide right on to the Saiga scope mount...the adapter had to be tweaked with a dremel

I have the shorter Barreled 308......what is the best way to mount a bi-pod....also need to find decent priced POSP scope that will work on the..Saiga.....any info..would be helpful...

I have replaced the forearms on my Romania AK with one of those tactical forearms with several rails..top bottom ect....does anyone know if they can be fitted to the Saiga..or if anyone makes a aftermarket tactical forearms...any imput would be helpful....

I installed the after market drag.....type stock on my 308.....does anyone have any ideas on a stock extension..ect..as I have long arms and the stock is short....any imput is appreciated....

Also found out its pretty picky about scope mounts..had a couple of Dragnov scope mounts and scopes that fill fit..on PSL or Romak 3..they would not work...but will work on my Wasr-2 and my STG 2000-c...I had an AK mount with scope mounted on it that had sniper reticle and preset caliberation from 100-500 yards...went right on.....even though the caliberation is for 223..I think..I can make it work on my saiga....we will see..good for short term...breaking/sighting it in...

I put my new saignov buttstock on my 308 today....I had one of those days...to begin with..the stock would not come off..this cont...until I realized that I had not taken the 3rd screw out located in the rec....****stupid....stupid****....once I got the stock on and lined up...I started to drill the holes....broke off two bits in the holes...again...I forgot that I should have put dish soap on bit to make it drive easier....the second bit on the tang whole broke off at end deep in hole...since I drilled it too deep to begin with..I put screw in and tighted it up...locked up ok and flush as it

I just ordered a new Saiga 308 rifle with the shorter barrel....I also have one of those new russian made (saiganov...) butt stocks from Gilbert arms....has anyone installed these....it did not come with screws....I am only mildly handy...so I was wondering how hard these are to install...I am assuming u use the original stock screws when u install..new buttstock...any imput would be appreciated....

I am thinking about buying Saiga in .308 caliber....I already have Mitchell Arms .308; which I love and am in the process of restoring...The Saiga would make great companion rifle....I am courious which barrel lenght would be the best..I have heard that the shorter barrel is more rigid and may be more accurate...any imput would be appreciated... ALSO WERE WOULD A PERSON PURCHASE THE RIFLE...THE ONES IN THE GUNSHOPS LOCALLY SEEM QUITE HIGH AT ROUND $450.00....A LOCAL FFL DEALER WILL ORDER FOR ME.....ANY HELP IN THAT AREA WOULD ALSO BE APPRECIATED...
