  1. thanks turbo, Like I said I've been away for awhile and havent kept up with stuff as far as ammo and so forth with my .410, so I wanted to be sure about the choke thing. I didnt think I would need one but wanted to double check to be on the safe side. Thanks for all the links as well. odn
  2. Hello everyone, havent posted here in a while. The weather is finally clearing up here in va, getting warm enough to spend some time out shooting, i was wandering if anyone can recommend a slug type for the .410. Also is a choke for slugs necessary? I havent gotten the choke set yet. I know they are floating around here and there, or at least were at one time, but I havent gotten a set yet. Just didnt know if the .410 can have slugs ran through it without a choke and wanted to make sure. thanks in advance, odn
  3. Hello all, I was doing some research for an ar 15 and found this. Thought everyone here might like to take a look at it, and to see what everyone thinks. I dont think this from a rifle malfunction though. Seems to me more of an operator error or ammo error in some way. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&...16&t=361623 hope its not a big deal me posting links to other forums ordinarily i wouldnt but in this case I think those of you shooting the .223 like i am should at least see this......... odn
  4. Thanks guys for the tips, and advice, I'll keep all this in mind when I get ready to start my build next month. I'm still trying to figure out what cal. upper I want to get. I already own a bushy .223 so im looking at something a little bigger but not sure what yet. odn
  5. Hello all, I was wondering if any of you have ever had any experience or even seen the superior arms lowers. I ran across some for a decent price and was seeking opinions on them. Good quality? functional? match well with various uppers? thanks odn
  6. Thanks nalioth thats great to hear. I was not aware that it was a breaking in issue concerning the trigger group, but it makes sense now that you mention it. Maybe it will turn out to be a better shooter than i expected then. odn
  7. Thanks for the recommendation for the website. I had checked it out prior to buying my wasr...... The one I purchased did not have any of the problems listed on there.... What was actually wrong with mine, and still is to a small degree is, the action works very rough, and when cycling it by hand the bolt will hold open..... Before sending it back to the factory it was serious, happened like every two to three hand cycles, now it more like once every 50 hand cycles. The piston was cross threaded on the bolt carrier causing it to be at an angle, this caused some of the problem, and they fixed
  8. Hello all, I just recently purchased a wasr 2 ak 74 in 5.45x39....... I love this cartridge, but the rifle is not exactly what I would call a superb specimen. Its a century built rifle, and has the normal problems associated with them. Its was already sent back to the factory once with problems, (before even getting to fire it) and now that its returned, well lets just say I dont feel that its very reliable.................that that I completely hate this rifle, it was worth the money spent on it but i am looking for something a bit more functional and reliable. So can anyone suggest
  9. thanks tritium for your speedy response........... I'll try and break it in then........ thanks for the welcome too...... i have to admit ive been reading the forums here for the last couple of months since purchasing my s .223. I think there is alot of great people here with lots of helpful advice................
  10. Hello all, i just picked up a new 410 the other day to add to my saiga collection, i have a question concerning the gas settings. I have read that you should use gas setting 1 for three inch magnum shells. I tried my new gun out using winchester three inch 4 shot loads, on setting number 1 and it wont cycle. it fires and that it. doesnt even try to fire....... I tore it down and cleaned everything, even the gas tube, tried again and same thing happened. so im a little confused...... I've read in here that setting number 2 works the gun a little harder, and in some instan
