  1. Are you saying that all saiga rifles have pins in the front sight?

    thanks

Yes 2 pins that go from one side to the other side in must cases

just like any other AK rifle, see post above for exception to the case, dont you

have a rifle? look on the FSB and GB, you push the pins out and

    press the part out.

Yes I do have a saiga rifle 762x39

Have read your comments & yes I do understand now.

    thanks

  2. Ok, it rained all day here, so I took my tube to the shop and ported it as per Lollygaggers measurements. First I measured off the front edge of the tube and lightly marked the first hole(8mm). Then I measured out 32mm with a caliper to the spot where I wanted the last hole and lightly marked it with a scribe.

Hi, when you say that you measured out 8mm for the first hole then 32mm to the last hole. From what point did you measure the 32mm? was it from the 8mm first hole or from the start of the tube?

    thanks

  3. Is there a way to make the gas system adjustable??? I think that would be kind of nice to have.

I'm searching around the internet to see if there is anything that I can put on the gas block to control flow, adjustable valve.

What I have studied so far is that the control of the gas must be at the gas block not the tube as the pressure is greatest at the top of the pistion ( gas block ) that's if you are wanting to control the piston speed ( pressure )

Something like a bike tyre valve but adjustable with the gas flow.

    See picture

  4. take a look in the tech section. was browsing through there earlier today and i remember seeing a link to a gas tube porting tutorial. Its super simple, made even easier if you have access to a drill press. I ported mine a while ago. I went with bigger than normal holes but only did three on each side. I didnt really notice a difference in felt recoil, but it does help keep the gas system much cleaner and runs much cooler.

Go ahead, give it a try. If it doesnt do anything to help your ejection problems, atleast it will run cooler and ease the cleaning process...

....that is, ofcourse, if you clean yours. You dont have to clean AKs right???

    Hi there,

Have you a photo of the gas port that you ported? a close up photo.

Could not find anything about how to port the gas tube on this website. Can you say what drill size you used? maybe it was 1.5mm or? any info would help

    thanks

  5. Hi Guys,

Was at the range two weeks ago, well I would be there today but it's raining in Auckland. Shit.

I was trying reloads & found that the reduction in powder loads, that the bullet case when ejected was damaged less than with higher powder loads. 1 example 24 grains ADI 2206 powder there was near no damage but when using 26 grains it was clearly damaged.

2 With the 24 grains or less that the bullet case was ejected 1 to 2 feet beside me. Instead of the case going 20 to 30 feet & I can not find it.

Question, I need 26 grains powder to be accurate at 100 yards. Can the gas tube be ported so that it would reduce the punch of the piston ( Speed of the piston backwards )

    Thanks Guys

  6. Hi PvtPyle,

    thanks for your reply.

I live in Auckland New Zealand. The main issue is that you will consider sending overseas. I need a permit from the NZ police before I can order these magazines. It's great that you have made these mags.

    thanks

I dont recall asking for people not to email me about export questions. We have email there for just that reason.

So shoot me an email with what you want, where it is going and we will help sort it out and make it happen if we can.

  7. Hi,

I need to catch up on the saiga 308 as at this point I have not purchased one.

    This maybe a stupid question?

Is there anyother type of magazine that can fit this rifle? example M76 or Romac 3 magazine?.

I have purchased at this time the 762x39 & 12ga saiga but thinking of more punch.

    thanks

    any help would be great

  8. Hi guys,

1 Can you say what's the best military ammo for best groups at 100 yards? Norinco, Wolf, Simpson ect

This is using the Saiga 762 by 39

2 If reloading, what type of bullet weight would you use?

3 Reloading for this rifle, would it be worth the problem with the ejection that may damage the casing. Plus runing after this casing or trying to find it maybe hard.

    thanks Stu

  9. Hi guys,

spank2798 all saigas can fit this stock, with all ak47 stocks that are for the stamped receiver. My shotgun will take a photo to show you. Has the Maadi type stock.

Yes the saiga has to be put back to the original state, from Saiga to AK trigger forward ect. We have a local person that does hundreds of conversions.

    Hi dinzag

will think about it, as to be economical for me I would have to order 3 stocks minimum, due to shipment cost.

  10. Hi Guys,

have emailed globaltrades.com & will see if they will sell outside America, as I'm from New Zealand.

Cheaper than dirt will not sell outside America.

If there are anymore places that sell these stocks please let me know. I will ask each place if they will sell outside American then I will order 3 stocks.

My intent is to mod the saiga 762 by 39 with this stock. Trigger forward ect.

  11. Hi Guy

What I'm trying to workout, is the reasons why you are changing the trigger, hammer ect because the law within american states that you must follow the 922r compliance ?

Do you agree with this statement below

You need to change the parts to ( AK G2 Single Hook Trigger Group ) to make this saiga rifle work?

    thanks

    Stuart

  12. Hi guys

In this forum we have had photos of trigger conversions.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm thinking of this trigger forward conversion, like the normal AK47 ect.

1 Can I do it myself or would it be best to leave this to a gunsmith?

2 Do I need a conversion kit? & wher to purchase them from?

    thank you

    Stuart
