  1. Hi Guys I have not been on this forum for a while but am back. Can anyone update me on the cost of the 8 round magazines & if there is plenty out there or hard hard to get. Have searched on the internet & found only one place that sells them. thanks Stu
  2. Hi guys have taken the plastic off, then oiled & greased the area under the plastic cover. great Stu
  3. Hi DHunter 1 Is it the screw that holds the sling in place? 2 When I have the screw out, do I pull downwards with force to release the plastic? thanks Stu
  4. Hi guys a compressed air gun would be great to get the dust out. Hard for my fingers to get to where the dust is. I do not own a air gun. thanks Stu
  5. Hi IndyArms I have seen this photo & then had a look at the shotgun, it's just dust. Some how the flash of the camera showed the dust. Not rust /// Great. thanks Stu
  6. Hi guys So this photo, gas settings is on one?. Magnum loads thanks Stu
  7. Hi Guys Somehow I do not think that a gunsmith could make enough for us all. Think about a gunsmith working on 10,000 mag extensions. This would be impossible. When you think of the cost per hour of a gunsmith. Are we saying that you can make the extension within 1 hour or less?. Question on glock +1 +2 extensions Would not glock pump out mag extentions every 0.5 seconds on there machines?. Stu
  8. Hi guys here is a photo of the 12ga mag & 6 rounds on the outside. You may get 6.5 rounds within the standard mag, that is without a follower. Stu
  9. Hi Guys 1 I would buy some if they worked with 2 3/4 ammo 2 The price $40 American is to high. Up to $20 each would be the max. thanks Stu

    8rd mag +1

Hi Diggler Are you saying that you would leave the bolt open & leave the shotgun for days at a time?. The hammer spring would be compressed, the recoil spring would be compressed. Not a great idea for the shotgun. Stu

    8rd mag +1

Hi TPABA & others I'm just thinking about the change in shape 12ga. If there is a small change in shape with bolt closed, then you may have a problem. It all depends on how long you leave the magazine within the shotgun. I think if you use a solid 12ga bullet, example: a 500gr lead bullet. First bullet that is under the bolt. May solve this problem. It's more for people that leave there shotguns loaded for a long period of time. 3-5 days. Stu

    8rd mag +1

Hi there My advice is to leave the mag standard. There is really no advantages on modifying the mags. 8 rounds in the mag & one in the chamber is ok. What ever you do, do not cut the spring. Stu
  13. Hi A friend of mine at the range mentioned about a week ago, that you could try soldering the spring back together. To try & solve the cycle problem. I modified my mag to fit 6 rounds within the same mag but found that it would not cycle the first round on a closed bolt. I had to cut the spring to fit the 6 rounds. See photos for details. The first spring that I fixed was a little rough but worked. The main problem was the soldering rod was not heating up the spring enough. I wish I had an LPG burner. Conclusion I went to the range yesterday & the shotgun cycle
  14. Hi Rusty I do not no if your comments about 00 buckshot was about me. In the photo winchester 00 light recoil will not cycle with my saiga on gas 2 The normal 2 3/4 will cycle like the clever in the photo above. gas 1 All normal 2 3/4 will cycle. gas 1 Stu
  15. Hi guys twinhairdryers, with the photos below can you say witch is a medium load. To me medium load is just standard 2 3/4 rounds. The photo of 00 ( red ) is light load that will not cycle in the standard 19 inch barrel saiga with the gas on 2. I stay away from target loads because they are generally light loads. twinhairdryers, your gas setting should always be on 2, for light loads. Target loads. Can you say what other modifications on your shotguns. Stu
  16. Hi Make I have never seen any semi auto work well with light loads. Usually the shotgun stovepipes. ejection problems. It's all possible I guess Stu
  17. Hi twinhairdryers I'm trying to understand why you would cut some of the recoil spring. For this maybe bad if you go back to normal loads. You say that you are using light loads but have not mentioned the brand or what you mean by light loads. Why do you need to use light loads? for what reasons? I would get rid of the recoil buffer. They are more problems than they are worth. My advice if you are wanting to use light loads is mossberg 590 pump or any other pump action. Your problems will remain, if you use a semi auto with light loads. Most military rounds, are wha
  18. Hi guys In relation to reliability between a pump action & saiga shotgun. I own a Mossberg 590 & have never had any cycle problems with it. A friend had a pump action. can not remember the brand but always had problems. He purchased it secondhand & we all guess that it's had many rounds through it. To many rounds. Pump action shotguns are great for lite loads. Police type loads. Saiga & other semi autos are not. Stu
  19. Hi Bvamp I have learned to always stay with the standard mag, to not modify it at all. 5 round mag means 5 round. Stu
  20. Hi dodgeturbointerceptor Have you used your chokes yet? If you have, how did they go? Which one would you use, more than the other? thanks stu
  21. Hi Guys just put your gas settings on 1 ( magnum ) & through away the over priced buffer.
  22. Hi guys would the Sidewinder brum magazine be steel or plastic? thanks Stu
  23. Hi Make I have chosen not to use a recoil buffer, for the same reasons. My gas settings if on ( 1 ) magnum settings. Works great..... Hi Cobra 76 two If the bolt went over the bullet & not feed to the chamber, would this not be the spring of the magazine. Not feeding fast enough to the bolt. Stu
  24. Hi there Have been waiting for someone to offer me an extension to my saiga 5 round mag. Like the glock has a floor plate +1 or +2 extension It seems such a simple idea. As the saiga mag is straight up & down. Not like a AK mag. So please help us extend this mag. Stu

    Going rate?

Hi Cobra 76 two I do not have any 8 round mags, so I can not say. The 5 round mags with 5 or 6 rounds within the mag can be used with bolt closed. 6rd plus 1 in the chamber. Will not cycle the 6th round ( the first one in the mag ) To be reliable, 5 rounds with the mag & 1 in the chamber. Stu
