Question ....Why cut to 17.8 inches ? And is that 17.8 or what fraction? I just picked up a 21 in. 308 for $580 delivered ....just want to make it the best it can be ..thanks

Scrolling back in these here threads (back about 04) came across someone who said they had lost some accuracy when they changed to the AK style grip....Has anyone else noticed this ? I get my 308 on Tuesday (paid 415 delivered).....just don't want to hurt it ...if I fix it.....I can't see how it would make any difference....thanks all..

I want to get a black handled 308 ...just need to know ..is it better to get the 21 and cut it down so you can thread the barrel after reattaching the front sight . ......The 16 the front sight is right on the end ...so if you moved it back to thread the barrel you would have the sight pin holes to fight with ...I want to eventually convert it to AK style............untill then...... is there any real difference in accuracy? thanks

Newbie here ...why do you a G2 over the original Saiga hammer...is it only to make it legal ? If you used the Saiga one ,and changed something else to a USA part would that be OK ? ...thanks

Can you use a 2 1/2 in mag for top and a 3 in mag for the bottom as the 3 in are cheaper? Just hate to cut up two 2 1/2 mags when I got some 3's laying around...thanks

But ...can you shoot a marlin 444 out of a 410 Saiga as is , ..1; with no damage to gun (tho accuracy will suffer due to no grooves) ..2 ; m444's loaded into a mag will chamber and shoot like a shot shells........This whole idea came from the Taurus Judge Revolver ,which can shoot either 45 colt or 410 2.5's (and not real accurately because OF the grooves affecting the shot some what) so that if you came across a bear 'would it be more punchey than shot shell .... Last thought , is a 444 more punchey than a 410 slug 2.5 ......thanks again

Will the Marlin 444 then work with out too much chamber pressure.? Has anyone shot 444 with out any damage ? I know the barrel is not riffled but it would be good for close quaters or would a 3" slug be just as good... thanks
