  1. I think (don't quote me, If anyone else knows the brand, let us know) these are the same magazines (Pro-Mag) that I saw on a youtube video of some guys giving it the tire roll over test. First they ran over metal magazines with the truck tire, and squashed them. They ran over the black plastic ones, and it did nothing to them. They fed them back into the ak, and they worked fine. Price ain't that bad, either. Home | AimSurplus Catalog > Magazines AK Rifle Magazines Pro-Mag AK47 30rd Polymer Smoke 7.62x39 Magazine Mag-ProAKA4 Pro-Mag AK47 30rd Polymer Smoke Magazine
  2. Yes, very, very nice and comfortable chair.
  3. It's called a Cinch Mag. Just type it in your search engine. Do look and compare at several sites, though. There are different varities, and quite the difference pricewise.
  4. Whenever I get a new rifle, I completely de-grease and clean it, then run a few hundred rounds of factory ammo through it (with intermitten cleaning in between). After I slightly break it in, (500 or so rounds) I completely clean it again. Then I use match grade ammo or precise reloads to site it in, using the irons/scope. This way, I can usually blame the ammo itself (whatever ammo I use from there on out) for bad groupage. ( understanding that the tolerances are a bit less tighter than an AR, for example.) I almost always have had the best results using this method when it comes to get
  5. The one thing I never understood is, with the ak-47 being the greatest, most reliable, most rugged battlefield weapon ever built, why they never machine templated a near perfect front site post. Some of the cant I've seen on other ak's, as well as on my three, almost look like they were just tweeked by (not so good) eye with a pair of pliers and a ball peen hammer. It's pretty bad when you can notice the cant right off the bat with yer eyeball. I bought an aftermarket fsb a while back when I hacked mine off to shorten it to a 16", and just by looking at it, I can tell that asthetically,
  6. I've been seriously considering getting the 9mm for shits-n-giggles. For $180, why not? ATI makes a cool lookin' stock for the 9mm. Looks close to a Berreta Storm. I like the camo original .40 that I have. It's a cool kindof ugly IMO!
  7. Say, where'd you get that stock? It's a Russian Saiga sidefolder I bought from David's Collectibles. It's heavy duty, and folds to the left (towards me), instead of to the right, like Tapcos. I took the thing apart, and drilled the pivot hole out a little bigger. It was a big PITA to try to open or close the SOB, until I drilled it out a little bit. It's also a lot quicker to deploy than the Tapco (for me). Has a nice soft rubber buttpad on it. I removed the sling swivel and re-threaded an eye bolt in its place, so it's easier, quicker to connect/dis-connect carabiner on sling, and str
  8. Taurussvt, ya might have luck checkin' out gunbroker.com, or shotgun news. I've bought a bunch of guns off gunbroker in the last few years, and got killer deals on some of them. The downside is, you usually gotta pick it up at an FFL dealer's shop ($20- some places-$75.00) depending where you live, plus a shipping fee. Also check out the sporting goods sections in stores and newspapers. Good luck. J.D.
  9. I have a pistol calibre carbine. .40 Hi-Point carbine. Little bastard is right on the nuts to 100 yrds, and ain't had a jam once in the past 500 rounds shot through her. Very light, very manuveurable, reliable, and cheap ( paid $185.00 last year new), 100% made in USA with the best warranty you can get for a gun. The .40 is a good self defense round.
  10. Nice. Talk about shedding some "light" on the situation. Is that a zenon bulb? How many lumens is that s.o.b.?.
  11. Nice rig , bro. Hang in there. Time heals all things. Hopefully the D.C. vs. Heller overturn will make the ( shit rolls downhill ) effect come into our favor, where we (us law abiding citizens) maybe someday won't have to worry about possible pursecution from tyrannical gun laws. (I.E., 922r).
  12. I avoided the "conversion", and have a cheaper priced "SHTF" gun.
  13. As written by Chuck Hawks...: 20 Gauge The 20 is an excellent self-defense caliber, particularly for those who dislike the recoil of the 12 gauge. I recommend the 20 gauge over the more popular 12 for home defense. Choose the 20 gauge 3" shell Federal "Classic" #2 buckshot (F207-2-5PK) with 18 pellets, or the Winchester "Double XX" Magnum #3 with 24 pellets (X203C3B). If your gun cannot accept 3" shells choose the Remington #3 with 20 pellets (SP20BK5PK-3). All of these loads provide definitive short-range stopping power. I specifically recommend the 20 gauge for women and recoil-sens
  14. Do any of you fellers know if they make a rubber extended buttpad to lengthen the skeletonized stock by an inch or two? Thanks, FFF Patriot.
  15. I like to use fourty-foot sea storage containers. (I wish!)
  16. You guys ever used gun butter? After the initial strip down and complete de-greasing of my three ak's, I coated everything with gun butter. I have fired almost 2000 rounds among these three rifles since applying gun butter, and when it came time to finally clean them, I was shocked to find that all the powder residues wiped clean with a DRY patch!!! I was always a firm believer in CLP, for over 20 years. I won't use anything else but Gun Butter. The shit is meraculous, to say the very least!!
  17. I don't know if it would be enough muscle, however I have been known to buy the best of the best, use it one time, and return it. Just find out their return policy and save your receipt. Good luck, J.D.
  18. This may be too (far) fetched for most , but (not) all. I moved to Nevada from Wisconsin over three years ago, after being totally fed up with liberal bullshit government, among other reasons. Some of us don't have the "tie downs" that many others have that literally make many bound to continually live in the state we were born in. I frequently explain to many of the friends I work with (construction), and other people, that I won't move back to Wisconsin, until they change their legislation on gun laws, namely, their law on concealed carry. ( WI is one of two states which you CANNOT under ANY
  19. I also am wondering if that baby is American made. Would like to get U.S. made picatinny forend with similar over/under rails.
  20. I just watched all five of the youtube videos on the conversion. Not to discredit the guy doing the video, but it was a little under-lighted with a black rifle, some of the steps were outside of the video camera, and I would like to know all of the exact terminology of the parts he was dealing with. There was also a part he skipped when installing the fcg. I would like to see the entire conversion with nothing skipped. I also will be using Tapco componnents on my conversion of both my Saigas. (don't know if that was Tapco guy in video was using) Thanks again for info on video links.
  21. Howdy fellers. Does anyone have a link to a detailed full conversion video for the Saiga? I could have sworn I saw one on a previous thread on this forum last year somewhere. Been searching for the past couple of days on this forum, but no luck finding it. Thanks ahead.
  22. I just read the Ace page on their front sight posts, and read that the do have a tritum screw in tip.
  23. Do they make a trijicon front sight post tip that can be screwed into either the stock FSB or the Ace? Would be good for hazy or near twighlight conditions IMO. Thanks for your input, again.
