  1. Pull 'em in close and it doesn't matter what ammo you use.
  2. "If that is the case i would advise you to stay far far away from palmetto states site, they seem to have really good deals around holidays and events." THIS. I'm not much of an AR fan, but because of this site and Pyzik, I've assembled 2 AR's and have been considering an AR pistol for a while.
  3. I've got one of those cheek rests... maybe I should buy a Golani to put it on? *wife choking me smiley*
  4. I've got both, and there's a place for both. One will never replace the other. Different tools for different jobs... so on and so forth. I once learned that because I'm lusting over a new gun is NOT a reason to get rid of another. If you want to get rid of it, get rid of it. If you just want a new gun, save money and get it, because like many have already said: you'll probably regret it.
  5. My first thoughts... given the option, I'd be outside turning money into noise. Hell, given the option I'd be outside raking my lawn and turning stout into urine
  6. Am I the only one who's mind is blown that this wasn't sold on the first day?
  7. I think options are limited, but avoid these cheap guys if possible. Like everything else made in china, it looks like it'll work great. After a handful of times using it, it got bent to hell and I had to have a friend weld in some reinforcement. Even now it's stashed in with a myriad of other shooting supplies/gun parts in the back of a closet or bottom of a box. YMMV
  8. How old? my 10 year old daughter has been wanting one of those crickets for a while, but I feel like the gun wouldn't get too much use in just a few short years (from her growing out of it)
  9. I've taken more squirrels this year alone than all combined seasons of my life, and about half of them were with the AOW. It's like using a wrench to hammer nails... not the best tool for the job, but it's funner than making babies.
  10. SHF KEG-12, very similar to a Serbu. I considered adding some type of sights, but it's too "point and shoot" for all that nonsense.
  11. 1oz 2-3/4" 12 gauge Slug, fired from 100 yards away. It made a nice sledgehammer sound I fired 4 shots, 3 made contact, this was the most impressive... all fired from my AOW
  12. Looks like I'll have the "that guy" opinion in this one. I had a Judge, CC-ed it, shot clays with it, shot targets, hunted with it, and got over it. Pros: Went bang every time I asked it to. It was fun, I guess. Cons: It's too bulky (coming from the guy who EDC a 5"1911). It's a 5 shot revolver. (I'd rather have a 5 shot autoloader and an extra mag than try fumbling with bulky wheelmen loaders) 410 bird/buck out of a barrel only a few inches long wasn't very impressive. So carry 45lc? why do that when there's plenty of other, cheaper, lighter, higher capacity options that do the s
  13. nobody has started a thread on the homeless guy getting killed by the LAPD... as much as I want to it'll be a carbon copy of many other threads

I took the task on for you. Discussions need to happen.

  14. I found it a little awkward. Even getting past the "Grip Zone" goofiness like a billboard on the grip, it was a little too much like holding a water bottle. Too round, too wide, just awkward for such a small pistol. I compared it side by side to an XDS and was making verbal notes to myself about the slide and grip width when the genious sales guy said "well you'll never know the difference carrying them" yeah... I think I would.
  15. Ever since getting to bring home my AOW, I've been looking for a suitable mode of transport for it. All the pistol cases I came across were too small, carbine cases were annoyingly large, Pelican cases are great but rather expensive, and all of the "briefcase"/photo gear looking cases on eBay either looked like Asian garbage or were also more money than I wanted to pay. I found an Allen pistol case designed for T/C pistols (Contender/Encore) that other AOW owners had recommended and it looked great. The only problems were price (around $40, honestly not too bad considering I was looking fo
  16. if they're small enough (#4-#10ish), they sell multi function wire cutters that have bolt cutters built in. You just thread it in, clamp/cut, and then unthread and it cleans up the ends on its way out.
  17. Sit extremely still, play opossum. Make them think I have a mannequin sitting at my table, which will make them think that I thought to have something sitting at my table, so they'll fly away because they'll think I'm sneaking up on it with a shotgun, when I'm actually sitting at the table.
  18. Lapeer Military Surplus/ Frank Vanpaepeghem Ordered out of state on 6-19-13 Disapproved 11-15-13 (sent wrong FFL number) Frank said he would call and take care of the problem, I had to hassle and remind him there was a problem. Had to resubmit Information and start over. Approval 3-9-14, received by Frank shortly thereafter Did not have any fingerprint cards, said he would order more from the ATF, after weeks of hassle, I had the out of state seller send some to me personally. Frank then said he would have the form 4's filled out, had to stop in to the store multiple times, and the
  19. I always wondered why they didn't make a sub compact .45 for the longest time. Then they made the XDS, but the grip on this one seems a little more user friendly.
  20. I always wonder if they use the language that "idiots with money" can understand.
  21. My first NFA toy. SHF KEG12, 12 Gauge AOW
