  1. What about once i install Dinzags '74 brake? What else would i need to install a bayo on my 308?
  2. no offense but there is a picture thread full of these. look at the "stickies" By the way....looks great
  3. i looked a bit closer at Dinzag's brake. His 74 is threaded deeper to take care of that taper, so i ordered that, a washer (bc i removed the FSB completely) and the threading kit. Shouldn't be much longer and i'll be done
  4. if that's the case, then that would help a great deal. thanks
  5. No one else has threaded a 16" barrel?
  6. So i'm close to completing my conversion. I removed the FSB in lieu of an ACE clamp on front sight (i prefer the look). This leaves me with a 16" barrel (i think it's actually 16.3"). I'd love to just thread it, but as you know, the end of the 308 barrel is tapered. That tapered part is about 1/2" or so. Obviously i can't cut all of that off, but how else am i supposed to thread the end of the barrel. A few more questions 1. For cutting the barrel, can i use a Saw-Zall or should i stick with a regular hacksaw. Either way which type of blade is the best? 2. I have the thicker b
  7. +1 for the tuck-under method on the front part of the trigger guard. I did it for my 223 and 308. no probs with either one so far
  8. Yup, you can get them at any hardware store. As far as which side to put the nut, i put it on the outside so that i can trim off any excess screw. As far as threadlocker goes, i used red loctite. Make sure you're sure everything is where it needs to be before using it tho, bc once it's on it ain't coming off
  9. +1 on the dental picks. I got a 4 piece set at my local Pep-Boys on sale for like $5. Definitely worth it, they've come in handy on more than one occasion
  10. Depends on what you're planning on doing with it 1. Make it a Saiga-Nov (Dragunov style) then get the 22" 2. A CQB Rifle, then of course go with the 16" 3. Or....get one of each and do both
  11. I just tried re-installing the BHO with the Dinzag FCG. I ended up having the same prob i had with my 223 conv, that being the hammer spring (on BHO side) kept sliding behind the disconnecter. I cut into my safety on my 223 to use as a BHO, and will do the same for this one. As for the spacing i just took the end off to use a a fill-gap on the front pin.
  12. I've done 2 conversions now, both times i just stuck the front end under the mag release and screwed the back end. No probs so far
  13. If you're gonna put your money into any tool, get you a Dremel. It'll become your BFF
  14. That hole is the pistol grip hole (at least it's the one i use). If that's not there, then sure just make one, i just stuck it there and used the locknut also.
  15. WTF!?!? I hope my order didn't get lost, i ordered over a month ago Waffles as far as the P-Grip goes, i didn't even use the PG nut on my 223. Just used a screw and a washer. Hasn't budged in over 500 rounds.
