Paintball, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, snowmobileing/ATV riding, and shooting military style rifles and mil surps. If it's fun, then I want to try it!
  1. Wow, I like guns and all, but you guys scare me a little bit! I would never want to shoot another human being, but that's just me. It seems to me that if you just kept 2 or 3 rounds in the mag that they wouldn't compress too much and crush the shells or fatigue the spring. If you need more than 2 or 3 shots with a shottie , well, then, you're a bad shot.
  2. I don't know about where you guys are, but here in NY your hunting rifle has to carry no more than 5 rounds in the mag.I have a couple of 5 round mags for my Saiga 7.62x39, but my SKSs take 10 round strips.Does anyone know if/where I can get 5 round mags for my Yugo SKSs?They're more accurate than my Saiga(without the scope on it), and I'm sure other hunters wouldn't want to be near me when they see my bayonette equipped rifle!
  3. I got my Mosin Nagants from Cole's Distributing.A 1940 M91/30 for $59 and a 1945 M44 for $69.Both rifles are in like new condition with all matching numbers.Hell, the 91/30 was even pre-cleaned and cosmoline free!!The 91/30 is the most accurate rifle I have.
  4. That's wierd.I got my mount from CDNN, the made in Belarus wonder, and it has performed flawlessly for me.I can take it off and on as much as I want and it always retains zero.
  5. if I may make one point...WHO CARES!!!???!!! Can't we all just get along?Where's the love?
  6. Is that one of those chinese type Ds? That looks pretty nice with the thumbhole stock.
  7. It's fun to hang them with a rope.Once you hit it you have a moving target.
  8. It's the only length they had, and I had to get one.
  9. I got a side rail mount from CDNN as well.It works perfectly and only costs $39.They have them with rings or with weaver mount.I got the weaver mount style and it sits a little high, but it works very well and you can take it off and on without having to sight it in again.I think the mounts with the rings sit a little lower.
  10. OUCH!Yeah , I think so, but then again I'm pretty cheap! If I was going to spend $600, I'd save up another $100 and get me one of those Romanian Dragunov type sniper rifles. But that's just me.
  11. There is some legal mumbo jumbo involved in putting a high cap mag on a stock Saiga.I might recommend getting one and shooting it as it is from the factory. My Saiga is in stock configuration, with the gay hunting stock, and I absolutely love it.I put a scope and a totally unnecessairy bipod on mine and I think it is a damn fine rifle for the $$ invested. As far as finding a gunsmith that will do a conversion for you, you'd have to ask around your area.I know the gunsmith that does work for my local dealer wouldn't be too keen on working on one of those " evil black assault weapons".But there

  13. Also, I can't remember if they come with a scope rail.I know all of the Saigas do.
  14. I'm not positive, but I think the VEPRs are American made. They are high quality with the milled reciever and all, but DAMN, have you looked at the prices?!?
