You asked, so... My Century built Yugo M70AB2 U/F is my favorite AK. The majority of the gun are original Yugo-quality parts, built with a USA barrel and NDS "RPK" recvr. Whoever built it for Cent did it right, as opposed to the C93 builders... I ran into this just swapping tubes between WASRs. I ended up polishing/filing a bit off the trunnion/rear-sight-block end of the tube until I could get it to "lock down" in place. The tubes are really just "guide tubes" and nothing more. So if loose - no biggie.

No, but I'd like to see pics of all the available options out there for SAIGA conversions/furniture change-overs. We all seen standard wood and poly AK sets, and the "rectangular" TAPCOs, but if someone did some VALMET-profiled knockoffs - M71, M62, M76 - or FNC style - they'd be great!

Trying to trade my low-miles, untouched/unmolested RAAC-imported SAIGA in a FTF deal for a WASR U/F (or any well-built kit U/F) - you'd think I was asking for free money by the lack of interest. This discussion of 922'd foreign AKs puts me to mind of the frothing CHICOM fans talking up MAK90's and their great double-hook triggers - which like SAIGA conversions; get ditched for TAPCOs or other USA FCGs. Which loses all advantage of being a CHICOM AK.

I have a CHICOM SKS, bone-stock laser-accurate RAAC SAIGA with dimples, ducks foot, and more AKs and ARs than I need. I have plenty of flashhiders, bayos, pistol-grips with the mix. I left my SAIGA stock as I like it as a "modern" SKS. Something about a "rifle feel" as opposed to the pistol-grip for a great change of pace. Who would convert a Garand to a p-grip and complain over a lack of 30rd mag?

My TAPCOs have been fine, tight fit in a PolyTech. I also tried putting TAPCO followers and floor-plates from my mags on various Euro steel mags - they fit and work. No biggie.

I'm one of 4 people in the US that can tolerate the Romy "PSL" butt that comes with some WASRs. Take a Dremel and a sanding drum to the p-grip portion and "make it your own"; be surprised how it can turn out. Then stain and top-coat. They work just fine and add to the overall low-bucks, inflation-fighter approach to AKM ownership. As an aside, I swapped my PolyTech AKS-762 "SP" thumbhole for NOS PolyTech wood not because it was uncomfortable or nasty, but just because I wanted to make sure I had PolyTech furniture before it completely dissappeared. To each his own.

Did you get the dim's you needed? I bought my "poly block" off of Gunbrokeya, but I seen the same on evilbay! Anyway, it is some kind of rock-hard poly resin with some holes machined out for the stock itself. External dims are a "universal fit" in the sense that you will possibly have to do some sanding/grinding to get it to fit inside the recvr. I snagged one for my WASR-22 as I figured the zero recoil would make it usable. However - once I assembled the spare Yugo U/F stock I have, I can see that it will not clear the side-mounted "scope rails" that WASRs have to make them gheyly sp
