  1. I think this is very exciting news.   I have faith in Cameron that this new product will be well thought out and properly manufactured.  I would like a U.S. made Vepr alternative.

If possible, I'd like to see a Chaos 12 gauge semi automatic shotgun with: an AR style safety, one with positive engagement and disengagement; an easily changeable barrel (standard/slug/longer or shorter); chrome lined, threaded, barrel; readily interchangeable stocks; rail options (I suspect this will not be a problem for Chaos); a good, modern, trigger; easy take down and reassembly and some factory finish options, such as FDE, O.D. Green and, possibly, my favorite, marine/nickel.

  2. Some people don't like green, but it is my favorite color.

This thing is flat out awesome (at least in my book)

Rather than linking ar15.com, I tried to find this rifle somewhere else, and could not. If anyone else can find and post the picture without the link, I will gladly delete it.

  3. My first reaction to this story was "What a PUSS." Seriously, then, just last night, we went to our favorite Italian restaurant. About three quarters of the way through a Stromboli, I bit down and hit something I thought was a bone. Luckily, I had only bitten down lightly. I politely, as any civilized gentleman would do, extracted it from my mouth. It was not a bone, it was a one inch bolt. Yes, a metal bolt, likely from the mixing machine.

I was lucky, in that I had not 'chomped" down hard on the bolt. However, a bolt is a much different thing than an olive pit. A bolt is a "foreign" object, not generally expected to be found in our food. An olive pit is considered a "natural" item, something which could be found in our food. At least when I took my Torts class in law school a long time ago, that difference was significant in the likely success of a cause of action for negligence with regard to the preparation or presentation of food in a commercial enterprise.

Anyway, back to the Stromboli with mushrooms, sausage, green peppers and bolts. I called the owner over and told her what I found. She was apologetic and removed the Stromboli from our bill. That was all I expected and all that was appropriate. With hindsight, however, if I had fractured my tooth, I believe I would have expected, at a minimum, that my dental bill be covered.

As you know, dental pain is rather unique. We all hate it and should not be subjected to it merely because we are trying to fuel our metabolism. So, after last night, I have softened my position on this topic and I have more sympathy and empathy than I did yesterday morning. If I sued the restaurant for $150,000.00 it would not be news. Maybe, this too, should not be news. I sometimes think we are, in this internet age, exposed to too much news, and too many things that really are not truly "news worthy."

  4. I got 'quick scoped" a lot last night. I hate "quick scoping." Some guy comes around a corner and just points a sniper rifle in your general direction and boom, you are dead with one shot before you can even get a bead on him. Simply Crap!!!

There was a lot of lag last night. Several times I fired several shots near, or into someone, only to die and on kill cam it showed them clearly beating me to the punch---when from my perspective, just the opposite had happened. The frustration level with the game is almost to the point of taking away the fun.

  5. I am back playing and I have actually done some practicing. Which means I'm not as bad as I was!

I'm ready to join in with you guys. I'm now playing under the name Snow_Leopard56 on PS3. I don't know why, but I've been taking a lot of grief for that name. I've never been called gay before, but using that name has subjected me to a lot of "gay bashing." I don't see the connection, but I guess guys with really macho sounding names don't like being beasted by a guy with a "kitty cat" based name!

  6. The Daewoo is sold.

I am liquidating most of my gun collection. I simply do not have time to go shooting and I have lost interest in most of my collection. So, I am selling off most of my guns. All of my guns are pristine and either unfired, or they have only been test fired by the factory or the conversion company.

If you have seen one of my guns on the forum and are interested in them, let me know, I will be selling my guns at prices which while not "rock bottom" they will be offered for less than what it would cost you to reproduce them.

I will not sell to persons in California or persons who cannot lawfully buy or possess the firearm. I plan on offering a couple of guns at a time.

The first two I am selling are the Daewoo DR-200 and the Winchester 1300 shown below.

The Daewoo DR-200 was cerakoted in winter digital camo.

The Winchester 1300 Defender is duracoated in mortar, with od green.

I bought the Daewoo New In Box. They are now very difficult to find in such pristine condition. You can find them cheaper on Gunbroker, but not in any better condition. I paid over $900.00 for it and I also paid $295.00 for the custom digital winter cerakoting. I am asking $885.00 for the Daewoo if we can do a face to face, or $925.00 if shipped to your FFL. I will also include four Daewoo magazines.

The Winchester was purchased off of Gunbroker in pristine condition. I sent it to a gunsmith in South Carolina, who added the Saw Grip, the Mako Stock, the fiber optic sight and the Mesa Tactical Enidine recoil absorbing system. He did the duracoating and test fired five rounds through the shotgun. I have way too much money in this gun. With the cost of the shotgun, the parts and duracoating, I have well over $800.00 into the Winchester. I am asking $500.00 for a face to face or $540.00 shippped to your FFL.I accept cash, U.S. Postal Money Orders or certified bank funds.

If you have any questions, send me a p.m.

    These are listed elsewhere.

    Thanks,WJ

  7. WJ don't you ever get the urge to ride again? I am trying to face the fact that I may have to give it up sometime here as my back and leg keep getting worse but man it's one of my greatest enjoyments.

Oh, yes, I miss riding. I have some great memories of riding that snowmobile and my dirt bikes. When we lived in Arkansas a few years ago, I bought another dirt bike and a quad. Unfortunately, I was not as good a rider as I used to be and was much more timid a rider than I was at 14 through 24 and healed much slower. Getting old is not for the faint of heart.

  8. What are you looking to use the sled for trail riding, ice racing, off trail exploring? I personally wouldn't take an Arctic Cat if someone gave me one. I have been riding sleds for over 30 years and ride with some guys that are diehard Cat fans but they are always the ones to have problems on every trip we go on. Now before anyone blast me for my above statement I have owned Yamaha, Ski-Doo, Polaris, and now have gone back to Yamahas again though i have 2 Polaris' and 2 Yamahas so I'm not brand loyal at all. I have been riding with the above mentioned guys for almost the whole time and the Cat's are always the ones to break down somehow. In my opinion if a Cat is what you want I personally would go with a ZR 800 twin cylinder much better handling than the triples they have a ton of power and were before the ACT drive came out which my buddy has had to replace the last 2 seasons on his 2005 ZR900. Now if you're looking for just a lake racer the triplescan make some real good power but were more prone to problems than the twins. All this is of course based on my experience not from owning a Cat but having several trips throughout the years where time was lost taking their cats to dealers for repairs losing valuable riding time so I might be slightly predjudiced on the issue. Best bet for cylinder pressure is to find out from a dealer or performane shop what stock compression should be i have had several different sleds and engines and they all had different psi ie: my 1994 Stock Ski-doo 670cc Mach 1 had 165 psi in both cylinders, my wifes 1993 Ski-doo 580cc Formula plus had 130 psi in both cylinders, my 2004 Polaris 700cc XC/SP has 135 psi in both cylinders, our 2005 Polaris RMk has 125 in both so as you can see it varies a bit but typically yes both cylinders should be about 5-7% within each other. As for the jack shaft bearings grab hold of the secondary clutch and try wobbling it up and down to check for play on the clutch side. The brake side is harder to detect as the shaft will most likley have a bearing where the shaft enters the chaincase and a bearing and a seal where it comes out of the chaincase for the disc brake to be attached to it. I would look for studs if there are studs I would check as good as possible for damage to the underneath of the tunnel and the heat exchangers in the tunnel and the front exchanger at the front of the tunnel this area can be hard to see but I know of someone who bought a used sled and found out afterwards the tunnel was ripped and had some sever damage to the heat exchangers that the previous owner just tried welding up. I would also check the dipstick in the chaincase for metal shavings it is common to see some but not a ton and if the lube is black and thick it may have been neglected. Also check the drive cogs on the driveshaft for wear and alignment you can also grab the driveshaft and try wiggling it up and down check the idler wheels in the rear skid to make sure they rotate freely and look for missing track clips also. Good luck and if you get one remember there are families out on the trails so stay on your side of the trail so you don't kill someone.

Good stuff. Back in the day (my day, which was a long time ago) I had a Yamaha 433, which I rode all over Dewitt, Gaylord, Grayling and Sault Ste Marie. It was rock solid reliable and if I lived anywhere near a place with significant snowfall, I'd buy another.

  9. I really like my Chaos quad rails. The guy who cerakoted my LSA S-12 had never seen a Chaos quad rail before. He was very impressed with it (although he did gripe a bit about how difficult it was to apply digital camo to the many surfaces on the Chaos quad rail---ultimately, however, he did a great job). For tri-rails I also like the Kross rail.
