  1. I ran CHL classes in TX for a year..

Invest in good target frames (preferably ones without top center pieces as students will shoot the top cross rail out quick)..

I used 2x4 frames but the top rails would be shot out in 2-4 classes if the targets weren't hung properly..

You'll need SANDBAGS for the target stands as the wind in TX is brutal (at least where I was). Unless your doing indoors.

Get a Zee metal standard med kit for 25 people, then get some Israel bandages, Quikclok gauze, and Quikclot pkgs.. thats all you need..

Invest in scratch resistant 'glasses' for students to use (as they will forget to bring or not know they need them).

Also keep 4-5 pairs of cheap HF ear muffs on hand as well.

Remind them NO small children/babies at the range.. (yes I've had it happen, bad parenting x10000)  :(

Don't let husbands/boyfriends interrupt when your training 'their' woman on the range.

I actually tell them in the classroom part NOT to listen to the BF/Husbands as they are more than likely NOT certified instructors..  :)

    Hope that helps..

  2. I used the $59 (on sale) from 199trust.. Tyler sends you a 14 page boiler-plate trust in LOCKED PDF with the NFA verbage.

With nudging and lots of questions after purchase he will send you an unlocked WORD doc..  :)

I've used mine 2x for SBR's thus far. I did edit to remove all the witness spots as TX doesn't require them and changed the 'list' layout to suit me.

2 spots to sign and notarize and your ready to go.

  3. @mike..

The standard Saiga is a decent rifle my brother in law in NJ has one and it sits as original with 10 round mag.

I was going to suggest a 'conversion'.. but heard your in NY..  :(..

    Hence the following EDIT..

**If you are in a BAN/STUPID state like NJ, NY, CA, etc.. do not do anything to your new Saiga.. it is ILLEGAL.

**Some states you can't have 30 round mags (or even 20's).. You can't have pistol grips.. or threaded barrels..

**Check local laws for YOUR states restrictions.

For others in the non-ban states.. remove the bottom plate.. buy parts from CSS (Carolina Shooter) or other vendor on here.

and then end up with something like my latest IZ132..  cool.png

  5. dangerous territory since the ATF considers and SBR always an SBR until the serial is de-listed from the NFA, i.e. dismantled or destroyed.

True. That doesn't mean some people have not done it for there vacations either. hence my notation of "not legal or advise in any way"

  6. I would SBR mine except for the headache it would cause me taking it to OR/MT visiting family.

    Looks great

Well Stormwerkz makes a plate with a sling loop with the same angle and hole pattern for most of the M92/85 SBR stocks out there..  & voila back to 'pistol' look for the road trip..

*this is not legal or advice in any way.   ;)

  7. Shot it yesterday and today to zero it.. set it to the 200m setting and zero'd at 100m.

Then used the Primary Arms MD06 on the Stormwerkz rail..

At 100 m I got a small 3 shot group (3 orange dots) like 2", and then the 2nd group was taller, like 4".. ughh..

    100mM92.jpg

This was off my range bag.. I then shot 250 & 300 yards at the 10" gongs and got hits as well.. so I am happy..  smile.png

Also note.. a 9' holdover will get you at 500 yards..  ;)

  8.

Got Yugo M92 pistol in and some 'stuff' for it.. was gonna edit my #933 post.. but you can't edit in this thread.

Have you used the Manticore brake yet?  If so, how do you like it?

Brake works well.. huge fireballs..  wink.png

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzwAYvt0M1U    << Night Time Video of me shooting with Manticore..

I also have the 'Krink' Booster as well here.. haven't tried that one yet.

Bought a $70 Trust a week back and Bought/Submitted my 1st EForm 1 lastnight for SBR for this $200.. Hopefully the TAT is the same as some others 3-4 weeks..

  9. Sorry for the delay.. did the vacation thing..

Finished.. KAK pistol tube, Sig Pistol Brace, Ace folder, PA MD06, Tango Down cover, Stormwerkx rail, Manticore Brake

AOL from barrel muzzle to tail of the pistol tube is 28.75"

Fireballs from this are AWESOME..  :)

I still may go with SBR on this and get a real stock for it.. but more testing is needed before I drop $200 for a stamp.. I do have new 'trust' so if I do it.. it will be VERY soon as the trust route is closing fast (like end of November estimated) from what I've been reading.. which will suck for non-arms LEO chief friendly towns for law abiding people..

  10. I used dremel on one and a small course 3/8" wide file $6 on the other..

Either way.. go very slow.. and just keep test fitting... the small file went really well for me...

Keep in mind some Polymer mags (like Tapco) may be tighter than surplus steel mags.. again go slow..

Better to have the Polymer mags TIGHT then the correct 'surplus' mags loose..  IMO
