  1. I finally got to take decent pictures of the converted Saiga... Here ya go...
  2. Thank you very much. Post up your conversion I am curious to see what it looks like! My next conversion (if I can find it) will be a 16" .223 AKS-101 (I think that is what it is called) look-alike. But I am going to hold off. This thing was a pain to do, and while I am glad I did it, I need to acquire the correct tools before I do another one. I posted pictures in the picture thread (I believe it is still currently the last page). I had a bit of extra cash to burn as well as a birthday request, so I was able to get a good few tools that definitely made the job a lot easier
  3. I started lookin at saigas about a year ago. It took me until the summer to actually get one, and I just finished converting it yesterday... and man am I happy with it. The whole conversion wasn't bad at all, in fact the majority of the time was spent trying to get the forend shaped and cut correctly. I was a little nervous about installing the bullet guide, but I was incredibly cautions and it went off without a hitch. Dinzag bullet guide Tapgo PG and FCG NcStar rail and UTG foregrip ACE internal receiver block, folding stock mechanism, and pig nose adapter CAR extension tube and Ma
  4. Awesome, and congratulations! Looks like a job well done. I actually just finished my conversion today (just waiting for Brownell's to get me a stock with all the parts!) Definitely looks good though? What do you plan on for the next conversion?
  5. Hey everyone, I'm toward the end of my saiga conversion, and I have a bit of a question. I modified the original forend, as many have done, but it was a little rough. I sanded it down and was hoping that if I got find in the sanding that it would not leave the "cloudy gray" look. However, that's not the case, and I was wondering if there's a best way to restore the original black color, whether it is to polish and or buff it out, or if there is something I can apply that will bring back the color. Thanks a lot! -Adam (Will post pictures when complete)
  6. Wow, I'm glad I finally found that. I've been trying to find more info recently, but got so frustrated with trying to find info I looked other places. I'm glad I tracked this thread down, and I'm glad there was a solution!
