  1. All about the optics... until they lost the optics. I'm sure the few (still tax paying) Illinois residents will (be coerced) into correcting that little oversight.
  2. I usually don't like bashing on LEO's, but a lot of Chicago Police are dicks. I was watching that show where the two dudes go around with metal detectors trying to find buried shit (they were looking for Al Capone era Prohibition crap) and a bunch of Steve Wilkos (who also acts like a dick most of the time ) looking Chicago cops started hassling them about the digging tools they were carrying. Like WTF, do you expect them to stab a skin plug out of somebody, or go on a metal detector shooting spree?
  3. The bodyguards were probably busy doing a Harvey Weinstein/Anthony Wiener with some local Chi Town 'ho's when the robbery took place. Anyway, the miscreants who did the robbery should be pretty easy to catch. It's not everyday that someone comes into a pawnshop and tries to shill a Star of David necklace. Oh, and BTW - Haiti really IS a shithole. http://www.returnofkings.com/148787/5-reasons-haiti-is-indeed-a-shithole-country
  4. She would have one of those "O" faces leaving the house if she came and checked out my heating & air conditioning. How come most of the NJ heating & A.C. techs sent to my house look like John Goodman?
  5. I see a dark grey one and a green one... Whathehel are you talking about?! Just going by what the Spectre P80 box has marked on it. The O.D. one looks like it has a little green in it (like Remington's "Seneca green" Nylon 66 ) if you look at it in bright direct sunlight (not anything like Glock's actual O.D. coloring), while the (supposed? ) "Robins Egg Blue" frame looks closer to a Yeti turquoise big gulp tumbler in it's actual color. Of course it doesn't help none that our kitchen (where I tried taking the picture in) is about as well lighted as the local Red Lobster with t
  6. Ah come on. The Gen. 3 Glock (with the finger groves) is a thing of beauty. I just put two of those bastards together myself (was going through the flu and was bored). Actually was a quite fun project. Sorry for the shitty picture (don't have Gimp on the current computer to rotate the picture). The "fruity" Robin's Egg Blue one is 9mm (Glock 17 clone), while the Olive Drab (looks black to me? ) is .40 S&W (Glock 22 clone). Haven't had a chance to field test them yet (too darn cold), but they appear to be solid. And sorry for the shadow in the picture, tablet
  7. One of the several models made of the old "clakedy-clack" gill gun. I got one downstairs somewhere, should go dust it off.
  8. Well, I'm basically lazy, and probably wouldn't sharpen them much, so the "get a few uses out of them and then throw them away" knifes are probably best for me. I *DO* find the high carbon Asian grocery market knives quite easy to sharpen without that much effort expended, even though their shape makes them not that great for butchering. I tend to break the tips off knives while doing field dressing, so I don't even like using expensive pocket hunting knives for that task. Give me some Old Hickory brand butcher knives from SMKW and I'm happy doing that task. Henkel's with a broken off f
  9. Referring to Japanese Santuko's here, do you mean those carbon steel knives you can get at Asian groceries for like $12 a pop? If so, Mom (not a professional cook by far) loves them. She's got knife blocks full of Wusthof's and Henkel's and other overpriced shit to choose from, but she always goes back to the carbon steel $12 Asian grocery store specials. She says they cut up foodstufs like a sonnofabitch and are easy to sharpen up afterwards. Me not being a chef knife connoisseur here.
  10. Um, Jennings might be a better example. Kel Tecs might be ugly as Janet Reno's red headed half sister, but they do (I'm told) tend to work.
  11. Heh, when I was in the Boy Scouts (many years ago now ) a "Dutch Oven" meant leaning (London Bridging) over someone's sleeping bags face hole and sharing the scent of that night's bean side dish with them. Reminds me now how lazy our Scout Masters were with all the (usually cold) C-Rats they used to feed us. That does look absolutely fantastic, Chile.
  12. Devin Patrick Kelley is the suspected shooter's name. Air Force drop out, according to what the the news outlets are reporting now.
  13. I guess playing Call of Duty proved to be more important.
  14. Or indentured young girls and young males he got tired of having forced sex with.
  15. Funny, this tune seems to keep popping into my head lately....
  16. I don't know if it been posted in the thread yet, but one of the people at the LV concert who said there were multiple shooters on her Facebook page has suddenly died now. https://tinyurl.com/y9v6rlkt
  17. Hmm, too busy to answer. Maybe he's getting some lurve from Princess Leia right now?
  18. Eh? Oh, someone needs some Birthday wishes. I still like cake farts. http://xhamster.com/videos/cake-farts-865856
  19. I found what Ted Nugent supposedly posted about the professional sports athletes kneeling in protest during the National Anthem kind of refreshing. I know a lot of Veterans don't like Ted Nugent because of his supposed draft deferment during the Viet Nam conflict (as reported in Rolling Stone newsrag (which I trust to be as Conservative (and actually truthful ) on issues as the MSNBC news network)) Anyway, good read. Even if he was a draft dodger, he seems to care now about thanking the Vets for their service. Ted Nugent September 24 at 4:27pm · TAKE A KNEE Take a little trip
  20. Who the hell are you and what have you done with our Gaddis?! Careful, it's probably not that great of an idea to encourage Gaddis by saying nice things about him. He has been behaving himself lately, hasn't he? It's been said that he has been saving up a pretty good collection of stretched out meat-flap/starfish wiener pictures he's been dying to post somewhere.
  21. Okay, instead of being a worthless dick here and posting useless shit, here are two things I can think of: According to Atlantic Firearms, bullet buttons apparently are still a viable option in CA with MKA's if (I assume?) they themselves still sell a supposedly CA compliant model: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=486519 And I could have sworn reading something in the recent edition of Shotgun News (but don't hold an old drunk to that) about other mods you can (apparently? ) still do to magazine fed firearms that still get past the bullet buttons still don't ma
  22. Well, you could put a dildo over the welded shut barrel and that would make some (usually male) Californians very happy. Of course if you pulled the charging handle on it, and a big doob would come out of the muzzle (like one of those plastic cigarette donkeys of the '70's), I'm sure it might pass muster there too. Of course the firearm in question would still have to be a non-functional model though. I was also thinking if you could find a way to hide a bunch of undocumented illegals in it (butt trap, magazine? ), it might fly there too. But, of course we are talking about a fi
