  1. Already been done. Its called the Sig 550. Not that it would be a bad thing to have on the market. The real question is what price it is available at and how quickly he can churn them out. There are already plenty of high end solutions that solve the reliability problems of the AR or the accuracy problems of the gas piston guns. The real question is whether someone can compete with the mid-end AKs on price, produce MOA accuracy and still be reliable. I dont doubt Tony's abilities, but this will probably be something fairly revolutionary for it to not have been attempted before.
  2. Actually the common law rules in most jurisdictions are pretty close to the stand your ground stuff that the NRA is proposing. If someone breaks into your home and appears dangerous, I would say 90 percent chance that you can kill him in self defense. There are some jurisdictions where they will nail you with weapons charges for having a useable weapon handy (DC for example, or NY if you dont have a license) but regarding the actual self defense, every jurisidction I can think of permits it with little question.
  3. Speaking of kicking people in the pooper, what happened to the plastic mags that caused them to get delayed? I was under the impression that the first run was days from shipping a few months ago.
  4. From the internets. I go to sportsmans guide or aim surplus and it arrives at my doorstep through a series of tubes. Oh crap, 12 pellet 00 buck, 87 bucks for 250 rounds. Sweet.
  5. I'm running BT in both my AK and my saiga. No problems yet with either.

    odd AK

That reminds of a "dark chrome" color that some of the coating shops do for car parts. No reason it wouldnt work on an AK.
  7. Your conversion looks awesome. Thumbs up.
  8. Tony, will you be doing conversions/installations for this mod as well? -jim
  9. All we need is the 10 rounders and we are good to go. It's awesome when stuff comes together all at once.
  10. Upgrading buicks is easy! All you need is a bigger turbo and injectors.
  11. Any word recently? I havent received any notification (or any mags) yet. Does anyone know what timeframe they should be ready in? I dont want to give the impression I've grown impatient. I mean, I've already been waiting 2 years, so this isnt exactly an extraordinary hardship.
  12. Everything I used cycled well. I use S&B 00 buck because it is the cheapest. My only worry is that leaving the gun loaded for a long time will deform the tops of the shells, but it hasnt caused reliability worries, even after months of sitting. Some members did report snags though. I wonder if loading the top round as a slug or a high-brass shell would prevent deformation.
  13. I tried it both ways and the traditional stock seems to hold my wrist at an odd angle. There wasnt any functional difference I could discern. I have a tromix conversion with a super shorty skeleton stock with a recoil pad. I have no problems aligning with the irons or pointing the gun about. Very comfortable.
  14. For those of us without decoder rings, could you provide us with a webpage or at least list the calibers? edit: nice redesign on the website. It no longer messes up my browser. http://www.fbmginc.com/index.php?option=co...37&Itemid=1 for the discounted guns.
  15. I wish I could get a saigunov 308 but right now I am doing an AR/DeLisle carbine buildup. Of course I will still find the moolah to get some 10 round saiga mags. I have been waiting for that since before the 04 elections.
  16. 3" shells work in saiga 12? I'm specifically thinking of the S&B 15 pellet 00 buckshot. Their 2 3/4 load seems like a 3" load, so I gotta wonder if the 3" load isnt a bit oversized too.
  17. Around here, 7.62x39 counts as major. The cutoff point is 122 gr rifle cartridge. As in real life, the only downside to 7.62x39 compared to 308 is the long range performance.
  18. From tromix. Tony probably gets a bulk discount.
  19. It will be funny as hell if mark white finishes my AK suppressor before the mags are ready.
  20. Loading a saiga with a full mag and the bolt closed is much harder than loading an empty mag with the bolt closed. The shells stick up and hit the bolt. The bolt hold open keeps the bolt out of the way during mag changes. The current russian govt issue saiga12 has BHO and easier mag changes.
  21. Yeah we all got the email. Forgive me for not breaking out teh champagne when the status of the product goes from "not yet shipping" to "not yet shipping for a new reason." I've been disappointed so many times already that until I actually receive them I am not going to become celebratory.
  22. Still not ready dude.
  23. Fucking 86 ban. But seriously, that is a sweet shotgun. I would love to have one.
