  1. Hah!! Tell me about it. My first 2 Siagas were TROMIX converted 223s. So since the the s-12s and 308s have had to be converted as well. OUCH goes the wallet, goes the face.
  2. Guys, I don't post much, but spend a fair amount of lurk time on the forum. I work for FBMG when needed, as far as our 308 mags go- Yep. We're waiting on the Russians(again). Plenty of bodies, just waiting on a few internal pieces. We do not plan on discontinuing them. Believe me, as soon as we have them assembled, we'll have them ready to ship.
  3. If you can find them the 30 round German Weigers have been flawless for me so far. I got lucky and picked up a bunch of NIW ones at $20 each a few years back. Just watch your parts count.
  4. The biggest issue is reliable extraction of steel cased ammo in AR platform rifles. Ever wonder WHY all the steel cased Russian calibers have heavily tapered bodies? Ease of extraction after firing is a big part of why they do.
  5. Boys, this doesn't look good-- www.chinaview.cn 2008-10-25 23:32:15 Print WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- The United States has slapped financial sanctions on Russia's state arms exporter for its dealings with Iran, a move was described by Russia as something "without international legal foundation," the Washington Post reported Saturday. Under the U.S. law, any assets of the entities or individuals being sanctioned will be frozen, and no Americans are allowed to do business with them. The U.S. sanctions were designed to thwart the sales of sensitive technology that could he
  6. Tromix did one for me a couple years ago. Worked out well. But as noted, it's not really easy to do as a home job.
  7. I just got off the phone. They're all 109s.
  8. Way to "out" me there bro. Notice he said 9, and I said 8? Yep, got mine.
  9. Guys I know where there are 8 S-12's to be had. Do not know if they are 108s or 109s yet. But they will be here early next week. They'll be 600 bucks. If interested shoot me a PM. I don't want to post a link, as they aren't a sponsor here. But I figured a few of you may be getting frustrated waiting on backordered ones from other places.
  10. Won't be long and they'll have a visit from the ATF I think. AP pistol ammo is flat-out illegal by federal law. Sucks, yes. But it is the current law.
  11. I haven't tried it. The way it ejects puts one hell of a half moon shaped ding right in the middle of the case body. Case neck and primers are fine, but I don't trust the case wall. This is the case with over a dozen 223 saigas I've shot brass case through. With steel case there's a little mark, with brass case it's always a huge, sharp ding. It's the sharpness of the ding that scares me away from reloading them.
  12. Guido2: Yep that's the stock. All day long, no sore cheek!!
  13. The ones I have look a lot like a collapsible AR stock, with a 1 inch padded tube. As far as being uncomfortable, after shooting with both styles there's just NO comparrison. As funds(and TROMIX) become avalible that stock is going on ALL my saigas.
  14. Just so you all know: I work with the guys over at www.fbmginc.com We have one of Tonys 8" monsters. We took it out to a shoot and ran it over my chrono. A 1 oz slug load that did 1400 out of an 870 was still doing 1074 out of that 8" shorty. So not as much velocity drop as you'd think. We quit testing after my chrono took 2 direct hits from wads, or I'd have more data.
  15. New member here. Not new to saigas though. I have a few of those tromix saigas with a VERY nice(but not cheap) ace collapsible folder. It's got a huge padded upper tube, making the recoil abuse on my cheek not too bad during extended range sessions. It wasn't cheap, damn near as much as the gun itself, but it's comfy to shoot and the folding and extension lock ups are ROCK SOLID. Not sure which model the stock is though. But tromix could tell you.
