  1. AK-47 7.62X39 steel mags will snap right into the mag well. Some Steel Hi-Caps require re-working the front and rear catches. Just drill out the spot welds and relocate them to match the Saiga. Now, cut you some shims for the inside front on the 7.62 X39 mag. These shims need to reduce the width of the front of magazine to the same as your Saiga mag. Drill several small holes from each side of the front of the mag, insert the shim, and tack weld the shim through the drilled hole. Grind off your welds. You do need a feed ramp/cartridge guide for this conversion. Once you get your pattern for
  2. Rather than be robbed buying High Cap. mags for the Saiga .308, or waiting on the BattleRifleG3 to finish the BIG project, just buy a Vepr in .308. The metric FAL are easily adaptable. I've completed a Saiga .308 conversion kit for G-3 mags, but considering the cost and modes to your rifle, and the G-3 mags it's a pain in the A$$, and most aren't willing to modify their rifle to this extent. A friend with a Vepr came by, and we modified a metric FAL to work geat within a couple of hours, then turned out a dozen more in 6 hours. This weekend the Saiga .308 was traded at a Gun Sho
  3. I've found the easiest way to use the G-3 or FAL is by fabricating an Adapter, which is attached to the receiver with hardeded Machine Screws. The Magazine well extends below the receiver, and allows you to get the correct angle for flawless feeding. I opened up my receiver to within 1/16 inch of the side walls of the receiver. The magazine well is just tack welded in place until you determine the correct angle for flawless feeding, along with the correct height for the magazine. A mag catch/release like a M-16 will work fine. Even simplier, a Sten Gun Mag catch/release. Just design your mag w
  4. The MG-13 was a German Machine Gun that fired the 8mm Mauser cartridge. You can find them from several sources thru the Shotgun News, at budget prices. A really heavy duty magazine, that can be used in several conversions. Cajun
  5. Thanks MAC_TEK, I need to make up a few into 2 rd. capacity for duck season. Completely forgot about it until I saw a post looking for one. How fast is CDNN on deliveries? I know Joe _______, (getting too old) just can't remember his last name, and know he will be at the Big Town Gun Show in Mesquite, Texas, and I could pick it up there from him. Thanks again, Cajun

    CDNN Saigas

Great prices. Should be plenty at the Big Town Gun Show & Market Hall Show in Mesquite & Dallas. I'd like to find one of the adjustable chokes that was on some 12's years ago. Cajun
  7. I ran across this improvised firearm, a/k/a Scratch Built AR-15 Receiver. The prints are excellent, and in PDF form to print or download. Check it out: http://www.geocities.com/elmgrove1765/ and click on P6 AR-15 Receiver. Hey it works, and the cost was I think $7.00 plus labor. I personally would have welded it together, as Machinist & Welders assemble things by the method they know best. Cajun
  8. Try this: http://p080.ezboard.com/bmacdiscussionboard then about 1/4th down the page you will see Hottest Discussion "New gun from concept to production in 2 weeks. FIRST LEAK", before the different Forums start. A neat concept for a DIYer, that can be made with a FAL lower and MAC upper with some modes. Too bad it went commercial, but still isn't that hard to figure out the build. Cajun
  9. There seems to be quite a few Saiga 12 owners & Saiga owners in general in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area, and others like myself who are willing to drive in for a Saiga Modification Party. Seems between us we should have the tools and can get together the parts needed for our own builds, then help each other do the modes. Anyone up for this? Also does anyone have a shop or garage we could work out of doing the conversions? As far as when, we can pick a date, and take into consideration opening weekend of Deer Season, and other game seaons. Also we should make it op
  10. Someone recently posted a souce for 5 rd. Saiga 12 mags in Irving, Texas, and I trhink the man's name was Joe ________. Please post again. Thanks, Cajun
  11. Try http://www.tickbitesupply.com/partskit.html $139.95 +FFL. Cajun
  12. Try http://www.semiautosten.com/ as they have some neat stuff. Another semi auto Sten in development is http://stenguns.tripod.com/id13.html as they are coming along with a sound idea. As far as Semi Auto Stens with 16+ inch barrels in NY, I don't have a clue. There is some MACs out there too built by Master Piece Arms. Also Mac flats that can be bent or welded together, just add the parts. The MPA MACs use Sten Gun mags in the 9's & Thompson or Grease Gun in the 45's. Another interesting semi auto is the Franken FAL/MAC, which mates a FAL lower to a MAC upper. Too expensive to b
  13. The .308 conversions are clearly marked on the left side of the receiver. Drilling and tapping the gas block, then using a short allen head machine screws with holes of different sizes drilled in the center of each machine screw, as a bleed off of excess gas can get you to a point where you have a reliable rifle. It's the best fix I have found to adjust the gas on a direct impingement gas system. George Stringer and I exchanged ideas on the MAs 49/56 until they dried up on the milsurp market. He rebarreled one to 7mm Mauser, but had to load with short bullets due to the length of the maga
  14. Kevinadu, Your post woke me up to Duck Season. Have you considered fabricating a follower that is vertically longer, limiting the capacity of the magazine to 2 plus one in the chamber. This is the method they used to make 5 rd. magazines for AK in 7.62X39, and you could saw off the long follower and get 10 rds. easy, maybe a couple more. By next Monday I should have some dimensions on a 2 rd. follower, to fit in your stock magazine. PM me, if you are interested, and I'll get the dimensions to you. Cajun.
  15. I've been working on several High Cap. magazines for both Saiga Rifles & Shotguns. The MG-13 magazine body appears to be a good candidate for making a 10 rd. mag. for the .410 Shotgun. The mag follower will need to be replaced with a flat single feed type follower. The follower grooves in the back of the magazine will need to be ground off to the point you can install a rear mag catch like the one on the original magazine. The top of the magazine will need to be shaped like the original magazine. A front catch will need to be installed on the front of the magazine. Your receiver will n
