  1. Promag will never comes close to what MD makes. Promag = take an ok design, and then half ass it and never improve.
  2. Just in time too! Starting new better paying job soon, and $50 now and $50 later is a can do.
  3. Anyone have a picture of what is done?
  4. Demilled covered it pretty well IMO. This is an example of a bake on finish... It's brownells Molly teflon in semi gloss black (1911) That's a stainless 1911 that I got sick of the shine and wanted a black gun... Nice part about that stuff is it's super slick, I almost don't need to run any sort of lube on the slide now. It worked so well on the frame and slide I finished the trigger bar and all friction surfaces inside of the gun. I used it on an AK build with great results, surface prep is key though, if done wrong it will flake, I had to redo that 1911 twice, second time it
  5. Let me start by saying California is retarded... It's like California decided they wanted to join canada and stop being part of the USA... Your best bet may be to visit this forum for more california limatations and what you are allowed to have http://www.calguns.net/ Most places will not ship anything to California even if you are a LEO... Good luck!
  6. Looks great! I need to figure out where my wife hid/lost the camera at.
  7. Read where I had to hammer out my rear sight. Talking about the front barrel mounted sight, I turned the post to the top and I may just barly beable to use the front sight as irons with a very low rear sight, I plan on making one out of a scope mount.
  8. Cool, good plan on the stock!
  9. One more thing... I used krylon cammo paint with fusion on my gunfixer gas plug using maf sensor cleaner as a prep then baked it in the oven... so far it's sticking great, but I have not had a chance to abuse it yet...
  10. I used bbq paint on one of my AK's then baked it... it did not stick well and it flaked and chipped easy... Brownells also sells this molly teflon paint, stuff looks great and is super smooth! I refinished two 1911s with it and they turned out great, put it's very picky on prep... best bet with that stuff is to buy the brownells finsh stripper and degreaser for the best results. Brake cleaner does not do well for paint prep, I use it as a cheap power wash then use maf sensor cleaner before the paint with good results.
  11. looks great, would be cool if you could make a stock to match too.
  12. I think if you want to go to pistol grip, do it right. Not as hard as you may think, and once it's done you will love it. Moving the trigger group forward gets rid of that damn lever thing and it makes the trigger much smoother and lighter. You don't have to replace the factory hammer if you don't want to mess with the fitting, you just loose a 922r part. The hardest part I had was with the trigger, the housing was a bit tight in the reciever, but it was an easy fix, look what's binding, then file a little and check again
  13. This stuff is easy to work with and tough http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1117/Product/ALUMA_HYDE_reg__II I used brake cleaner then MAF cleaner (autoparts stores have this stuff) to degrease and then painted over the factory finish on my gun, stuck really well and it's tough! I refinished my gun over a year ago and the safety lever finally made it's way through the paint a few months ago, but there is still some finish left.. and no signs of flaking around that area. I have also used that suff for refinishing pistols, it works great. Semi Gloss black is my fav Only down side
  14. I think they might have something they are working on, I saw some stuff about their Saiga conversions they are offering. I figure if your getting a shotgun make it a 12ga. I have no intrest in a 410, and 20ga is not nearly as much fun...
  15. Got mine yesterday! The rear sight was a major pain in the ass! I tried to hammer off with a punch... nothing, just made the gas tube loose... tried lube, bigger hammer, and just hitting directly on it... nothing, gas tube just got looser. I finally took a dremel and cut a nice notch infront of the sight almost down to the sight block and pounded on it with a flat blade screw driver tward the muzzle... then to the side and it finally started to give. After getting it off it almost looks like some sort loctite or epoxy under the sight... Tube is loose as hell now but I got th
  16. Now that I know what ammo works and what does not I never have any failures. Currently I have a gunfixer plug, polished bolt and hammer, and a recoil buffer. buffer is really only in there for heavy loads, and in 3gun I don't want to take the time to adjust the gas for the three to eight shots I may need to take with slugs...
  17. I have been building my S12 up with 3gun in mind, the more I can carry with out reloading the better, and being able to dump a bunch of shells in a short time is great, I had a stage where a plop down steel target was setup incorrectly and it took 5 or 8 rapid fire birdshot rounds to knock the damn thing over luckly I had the MD20 drum and a 10rd stick mag in my back pocket as a backup... Once I get some money flow going again I want to build up a second S12 with a magwell... but I would settle for a last round bolt hold open. Mine runs 100% all failures I have had were because of
  18. I like the AGP mags the best. My MD arms drum is top notch, I can't wait for MD stick mags.
  19. I'm running the russian puck still, and I have been able to go past 1k with out any cleaning, the puck did not move freely and to move it I needed to pound on it, but the gun still worked fine like that. I had lots of problems with the gas adjuster getting stuck, I tried clp, Mobil 1 and they worked for a while... Ever sense I switched to the copper I have had 0 issues with it getting stuck, but just make sure you coat everything that goes into the gas block, not just the threads (don't worry about the flat end just the sides). ETA: 98% of that was walmart fed bulk 7 1/2 shot.
  20. Looks ok to me, like said above, the upper is the gun not the lower on those pistols so nothing wrong there. I would buy a 10/22 instead...
  21. who did the hack weld job?
  22. I use that copper anti seize that glock puts on their pistols new... works great. This is the stuff I have http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=20900/Product/C5_A_ANTI_SEIZE_LUBRICANT
  23. Still waiting on mine, did anyone get a ship notification?
  24. I carry 24/7, he would of had to raise his hands above his head really freaking fast it was me he pulled that shit on. The closest thing I have had like that was while I was at a wash bay just finishing up the clay bar and getting ready for a rinse and wax, I had just taken off my over shirt so my pistol was showing in my IWB holster. A bum walked into my bay and supprised the hell out of me... my side was facing away from him, he comes in and asks me for money, I smell booz on him really strong, like he poured it over his head or something... I tell him no, he gets a really pisse
