  1. I received my new to me S308-1 16" and finally had a chance to take it to the range. I have all the other S series rifles and shotguns but none have as rude a trigger as the 308. This particular rifle had some work done to it, Tapco pistol grip collapsible stock, scope, light, laser and bipod. I did not let the sun set before ordering a new stock set, arsenal stage 2 trigger, compensator and mags. I don't understand how anyone would put up with the trigger that came with this rifle. Is this a common experience with these rifles or is this particular one just in dire need of a better tri
  2. I have used Dinzags products and found them to be top notch. http://dinzagarms.com/saiga_410/saiga_410.html
  3. I also have one to track my teenage kids along with my wife

Mesa for me. I get out to Buckeye fairly regular this time of year, duck season starting soon and all. My s12 is about to get another workout as my S410 and S20 are being set aside now that dove season is over.
  6. The VZ58's are available from several different sources. You can try your luck with a Century build or one of the many parts kit firearms out there. If you want a quality unit stay with one built in the Czech republic and brought into country as a complete rifle. The VZ58 and the AK are totally different rifles. Other than firing the same round and having an appearance similar to each other that is about it. The VZ58 is a refined rifle not just a functional weapon like the AK. Both are great pieces and have their place. Get in touch with Dan Brown at Czechpoint for a complete list of d
  7. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, The 12 has enough love time for some 410 love well maybe a little more for the 12 then on to the 410:)
  8. Hang in there and get it done. Then you can move onto the 20 and 410 drums
  9. one s12, ones20 and one s410 all I need to accomplish any task at hand.
  10. without a doubt if you are into changing the rifle into something of your own making the 10/22 is the choice. I have seen some excellent work done to the Marlin 60 and the Remington 597. The 597 is cool as it has a larger magazine capacity. The only two 597's that I have had experience with run great and very accurate. I am waiting the arrival, hopefully later this week, of my Colt M4 I am also wanting to see the sig 522 when it comes out. I have already started working the wife on a purchase of the sig.
  11. the 3" mag round in steel is all I use come duck season. I shoot at least 3 to 4 cases a year of the stuff. The rest of the time I will use 2 3/4' just because clays don't require the heavier payload. In that all my buddies hunt waterfowl with me and we use pretty much the same ammo there is no side by side comparison I can give you. It would make sense that the more bang there is that there would be more wear.
  12. Well patience has paid off. Plug arrived and was installed within a few minutes of opening package. Fit like it was a factory (well better than factory) piece. Now I have to go out again and shoot some more, just got back from a weekend of shooting.
  13. In my old house I built a 2' x 4' x 8' room in the attic. I painted the inside flat black then ran an 8" return duct into it and put a return air register for access. This kept the firearms in a controlled environment and provided easy access to them while keeping the appearance looking real. I had to change the filters now and again but it did provide some better cooling for the dining room:) Even my friends who knew there were firearms in the house never could find it. Remember an average burglary only last around 10 minutes. I keep all traces of firearms (ammunition, spent cases, ta
  14. don't care where or who provides hi cap mags for the S20 as long as they become available 8 round 70mm for me, can't use hi caps for hunting so they would only be used for fun and the cheaper ammo would make it more fun.
  15. nope but I am positive we will get them. I only ordered three drums from the 1st order so I assume not a big enough customer to warrant being on the short list.
  16. I would have thought by now someone would have posted something about the SKS craze that hit in the 80's. I still laugh every time I see one for sale, as do most who bought them then. The costliest deal with out a doubt has to have been the Saiga line of shotguns. My 410 was only $150 new but it sure started an expensive line of guns for me with all the mods and accessories for the 12, 20 and 410.
  17. I use the file in my leatherman to reach across the plug and push the pin down so I can turn the plug. When the plug gets to the proper position it very noticeably clicks in and won't move unless the pin is depressed.
  18. My first Lab after many years of standard poodles. The lab sure is not as smart as the poodle but my lab only has a one track mind. Who says Saiga's are not good for hunting, don't tell these birds.
  19. hope not order 1545 and no plug but if Mike holds true to form it will show up as a surprise package when I am having a bad day and make things all better. I suspect that as with the original drum orders much patience is needed for him to get things together and shipped.
  20. Too bad you let them go. Rat tamales are always a treat, at least for those around here from the south. I have a Ruger single six and a heritage arms 22. The Ruger does feel much more solid but when it comes to shooting, very little difference.
  21. While at AGP the other day I thought I saw 2 rounders in the cabinet. Might give them a call.
  22. almost any outdoor activity, especially if there is guns involved. One of my main interests is offroading, mainly military vehicles and speicifically my pinzgauers. I currently have a 6x pinzgauer, a 4x pinzgauer, a 4x DAF, and two M37's. I really like being on the water as well, so fishing, water skiing or just relaxing at the lake.
  23. I use an abreviation for my Pinzgauer 712M (also avatar) The 712 series is a 6x vehicle and the 710 series is a 4x vehicle. I have 5 military vehicles but the 712M is my favorite one.
