  1. The problem with the gun sell/transfer from private hands to private hands is that it will only be done by law abiding citizens. The criminal types don't follow laws or they wouldn't be criminals. I don't like any new laws regarding the sell/transfer of private firearms. The new laws will just make if more difficult for law abiding citizens and criminals will just keep doing the same old thing. All the time and energy that would be spent registering firearms and ammunition would be better spent just upholding the laws that are in place currently. Can't imagine what would happen if the fed
  2. Dutyranger If you find an adjustable choke for the 410 let me know. I would like to have an adjustable choke setup on my 410, all it gets used for is hunting. With Dove season starting in less then a week it is about to get used a bunch again this year.
  3. Another very satisfied customer. Received the final parts for my S20 in Saturdays mail when I returned home from the local gun show. I had an hour before we were headed out for some offroading but it was enough time to press the gas block and front sight on and put the S20 back together. Everything went well. Brian answered mey emails in a timely manner and got the products to me in the time frame he originally said he would. Great resource for the Saiga community.
  4. went to the crossroads gun show in Phoenix this past weekend. Have not seen that many saigas at a phoenix area gun show in a long time. There was a guy who had an S12 for sale at $475.00 (sold as soon as the place opened) Another dealer had 4 19" S12's at $599.00. There had to be 6 or 7 S410's there and a bunch of .223 and .308's with a few 762's mixed in. The show was fairly small but still the saiga had a good showing.
  5. Well I guess I am done for now with the S20 mods. Of course shortening the barrel so it would match the length of the bullpup would be a possibility
  6. EC I know what you mean. I have worked in and around the government operations for a number of years. It seems you could take 65 to 70 percent of the employees out of the offices and still get the same amount of work done. While it really pisses me off when I see the conditions, I don't know why the hard working employees are not screaming even louder. I have met some of the employees that I would love to have working for me. We do a lot of the ADA compliance work in the government type buildings so the complainers are the ones that actually keep us working, kind of a double edge sword.
  7. Well we put just over 500 rounds through it. Still very tight by cmoparison to my other AK's. I had two failure to completely eject spent cartridges in the first magazine. We had no other issues with it after that. The trigger is still a bit stiff but manageable and I expect it to loosen up some over time. One noteable thing is the difficulty using it with a drum magazine. The mags take a little practice to get in and out, I was using 40 rounders. After a little adjustment to the sights we were able to put up some nice groups. Overall a fun gun to shoot, you even get the AR "spring" so
  8. I almost hate to admit that I am a native resident of Mesa, Az. I did some searching on this guy and found yet another letter. Notice the tone about guns in this letter dated April this year. copy of letter Letter to the Editor category:Government and Politics posted:April 24th, 2008 The reasons for the bitterness and anger in small town U. S. A. can be summed up with the knowledge that their jobs have been out sourced to cheap labor in India, China, Mexico, and others, and if that is not enough the rest of their jobs have been taken by illegal and or undocumented people c
  9. I was at one of my favorite gun shops the other day (jgsales in prescott, az). I have been looking at one of the AK bullpups and finally broke down and picked one up. Am going to take it out to the range Saturday or Sunday. pic of my new toy
  10. I carry either a Sig Sauer P6 or a Smith and Wesson 4053 TSW (concealed carry) Really like the reliability of the Sig and feel of the Sig but the larger 40 cal of the 4053 is comforting Sig Sauer P6 S&W TSW
  11. Cobra, being a 410 enthusiast we see that ("kid's gun"?) all the time. It ususally comes from people who can't hit the broad side of the barn, even with a shotgun. It takes a real shotgunner to shot a 410, and do well at trap and skeet. The local range even has a 410 club and they really like my Saiga 410 for what it is, a simple flawless operating shotgun.
  12. Geez Juggs nice selection. The three I picked up this week are Moisin Nagant 91/30 (already ahd the M44) Steyr 1895 Stutzen Carbine Budapest, 8x56R caliber and a Walther G22 .22 cal bullpup. Took the G22 out the other day and love the way it handles the different 22 rounds. Too bad they don't make a larger capacity magazine for them.
  13. The CZ 52's while they are great guns once you get them to work would just not be my first choice. The 52's are a bit tempermental with their mags and recoil springs along with the firing pin having breakage issues. All of these have aftermarket fixes but need to be done to make it truely realiable. The CZ82 more modern and, in my experience more reliable without mods, would be a better choice. There are a number of police trade ins that are fabulous weapons but all approach or exceed the $300 mark. The one I really have enjoyed shooting is the Sig P6, great gun and lots of spare mags a
  14. The S410 is what started me on the saiga shotguns. I use 410's as my primary hunting weapon. The only reason for the S12 was hunting ducks, oculd not find a reasonable source of nontoxic shot in 410. Of course after having the 410 and the 12 I had to get the 20 (the only converted one I own).
  15. The G2 (or RSI) trigger groups are far and away superior. Not trying to stir anything up so keep it technical please. But why is it better. I did not notice a difference in the S20 (yes I know this is the 12 section) just curious. Like many other things there might be a difference in the two shotguns, again. I put the G2 in my S20 for the parts count only as I was happy with the stock trigger. The pistol S12's did not feel comfortable to me when shooting ducks, dove or quail. The pistol grip version was far more comfortable when plinking at targets on a level plane though. That and
  16. A couple of things I had to do to make it work move the front of the trigger guard back to clear the mag release shorten the length of the trigger probably not needed but was very close to touching guard grind the plate at the front to fit under the mag release, optional but I thought it would help with side movement grind the plate to accept the rivet bump on both sides of receiver (bump only exist on one side of a S12) grind the notch for the BHO level just a little for added clearance Seems like a lot but it took less than a half hour to fit.
  17. Probably been posted before but it is a good one to send to those who are not as informed as they should be. http://www.wimp.com/firearms/
  18. Well I ordered the rear and front sights from Dinzag along with the Kvar furniture in black. Hopefully in a month or so I will have the products and get them installed.
  19. I know I can vouch for Cobras limiters. They installed and worked flawlessly in my S12. I had a couple mags plugged with the balsa in the S12 and it had a tendency to hang up once in a great while. In my S410 the balsa has never been an issue (probably did not use thick enough balsa in the S12 and it moves around to jam against the springs). Cobras have never failed me in the S12, worthevery penny in my book.
  20. just like all things for the S20, a little modifying of the S12 stuff and they work great. It is surprising how many differences there are in the shotguns. I had to shorten the guard a little and grind a notch for the rivet bump which is on both sides of the S20 along with making the BHO notch a little farther to the rear and shortening the trigger but when done very happy with the results. The safety stop is part of the original mag release which worked out very well with the new guard.
  21. I picked up some Nobel Sport shells from the Armory http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/shot.html and have real good luck with them in my 410. Don't know about 2 3/4 all the rounds I have are either 2 1/2 or 3 used in corresponding mags and they work well. The S410 is my favorite dove gun.
  22. Would like to change rear sight also. What are the options?
  23. Looking for sights for my S20 conversion. I like the ak style sights but am open to suggestions. Who has them? How much is involved with installation? Thanks
  24. might drop this guy an email, he has come up with all the fobus holsters for my unique collection thus far. Ebay ID lippman-enterprises Lippman Enterprises, Ltd.
  25. Ray I am really happy with my guard. As you can see I modified it a little to make it fit my S20. Really makes a big difference in the mounting of the SAW grip. Thanks again Mike
