  1. I have a Krebs aperture sight but have only used it 3-4 times, and while I do like it, I must agree with Jim, the standard sights seem more user friendly for all-around use. I'll likely keep it but won't likely be getting another.
  2. The only thing with me, regarding handgun vs. long gun, is that there are sharp turns in my house and a hand gun is much more maneuverable. I have a son; I have to "go out there" and see what's going on. After he's out of the house I will have no need to do that. But I do completely agree that a long gun would be better than a handgun, given the ideal circumstances.
  3. not to hijack the thread but if i plan on only using 10 round mags...whats the point of the bullet guide for me? if you must know i live in Kalifornia...no regular cap magazines for me Well that does suck . . . I would personally be of the opinion that if you are limited to 10 round mags there would be no point in a bullet guide. Just get a bunch of 10 round mags. But can't you put on one of those Monsterman grips or use a mag release that requires the use of a tool for mag removal? Or something? Or you just don't want to go that way . . . Hell, I don't know, I'm in Texas!
  4. +1 to the bullet guide. I would also recommend doing a conversion yourself. And yes, I think it's REALLY worth the time and money! ETA: Welcome!
  5. My wife is on/in the trust so I just leave mine sitting out like I would any other gun. Otherwise, I guess the best you could do would be to leave it loaded and locked up. You would just have to get to it . . . Thanks for the reply . . . I do think that SMG/FA stuff is a different matter . . . No problem. And I don't KNOW, but I assume FA would be treated the same as the other Title II items far as handling and storage requirements. Why not? They're all registered and in/on the trust.

  7. That looks great! It will be a show-stopper at the gun range for sure!
  8. Welcome! I know what you mean. I left my first S-12 completely stock for almost a year just because it was so much fun as it was. Of course once I converted it I loved it even more!
  9. +1 My first thought was, "I wonder how much time and effort they put into making that look so craptastic?" Actually, that was my second thought, my first one was, "WTF? "
  10. Nothing crazy about that. You must test yourself to see how you (should/might/could/will) react in a given situation.

I would recommend marking it (while engaged) flush with the receiver, removing it, cutting/shaping it and then reinstalling it. It's a pretty common modification. Or better yet, just take it out. You don't really NEED it . . .
  12. Shipping is fair and Oleg is a great guy. He has answered every email I've sent. It always seems to take a little while for the package to get through customs though.
  13. I haven't tried it yet but I just got a DPH stock the other day and I second Banshee's comments on the 2 things he's not wild about. But it seems very solid. BTW, the width Banshee is referring to is the same as on ACE stocks. ETA: I just checked and the DPH is about 1/2" longer than the ACE 8.5".
  14. They're MUCH better restored! Congrats!
  15. Yep, luck of the draw. I have several 19's and one 24". I had to send one 19" to Tom for warranty work and the 24" is giving me slight problems with cheap birdshot (10%-20% FTE) but it has less than 100 rounds through it and everything else shoots fine. After a restoration and a few more rounds I figure it will be GTG. ETA: the 24" has 2 ports (haven't checked size) and one appears to be slightly blocked by the gas block.
  16. Several people have done it before and it is my understanding that they come loose before too long. I would, and do, just do it right and drill and tap it. It's easy.
  17. That looks great! Two thumbs up!
  18. I got an S-12 and an MD20 for $400 on GB about a month ago.
  19. Sorry, Duke, but "real life" got in the way this time Doesn't it always get in the way of the fun stuff . . .
