  1. Looks like I missed out on the last run of mags for my saiga 308. Anyone have some they would part with?
  2. Southern phrase I believe for a "Sunday Best" gun. Thanks Gunfun!
  3. WITHDRAWN Here we go. Will take $15000. More info at this link: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/75222-conversion-pics-ak308-gun-porn-pic-heavy/ Includes 5 CSSPECS 20rd steel magazines. WITHDRAWN
  4. I tapped the side of the mag on my workbench and it popped back in position. Not sure what caused it. This occured with the magazine one or two rounds from empty while unloading by hand. No problems while firing.
  5. That would be great, the sharp edges are the only major issue I see with the mags. I had a follower get stuck cock-eyed once, and another mag started corroding at a seam in humid weather because i didn't get it oiled.
  6. Just throwing things out there, did you put the bolt hold open lever back in? If you left it out and didn't put a washer in its place on the pin....
  7. Check the legs of your hammer spring. Make sure they are riding where the should be. They can cause problems like that.
  8. Thanks! I can tell you that Matt at Ironwood Designs is really making some great wood stocks. I ordered the Hardwood Birch because I knew I would end up banging it around. After I finished the build I took pictures quickly while it was pristine. Then I went ahead and banged the front magazine catch into my forend so I could have the first ding out of the way. Dave
  9. If you end up threading to 17x1 I have a '74 style brake I will give you. PM me if that is the case and I will ship it out.
  10. Thanks for the comment. The sling came from AA-OK. Think they still have a few left...
  11. Well, there is a spring/wire that is running along the side of the reciever where you are trying to beat them out from. This wire holds the pins in. Take a pair of needle nose and find that wire running along the pins and pull it out. I also like to pull the hammer spring tails up to the hammer and use a bread tie to hold them all up together. This takes the stress off of the hammer pin. If you aren't certain what you are doing, stop and put the hammer away. Someone smart will come along and make it clear for you.
  12. That sounds good Jim. Once he takes care of the floorplate issue they would be near perfect.
  13. Yes, I have one filed down and taped up. And No, I'm not using my mags in competition type situations. I am one of those silly asses who practices things I might want to do in a real conflict. fast reloads, rifle to pistol transitions, a barrel roll here and there... As soon as I tried any of these things, one thing became apparent: The floorplates are sharp and I can't do these things without getting poked, scraped, and scratched. Now I'm no sissy, but that gets old. I ordered six of the Magpul 308 Magazine Assists to cover all 5 of my magazine floorplates. I
  14. In my opinion, the .308 will ALWAYS be superior to x39. More velocity, more energy, more, more, more. If you want to minimize recoil etc, get a 22lr.
