  1. Would like the 8 or 10 round 76mm magazine to purchase for the S-20 20ga shotgun. Please PM me if you have one for sale. More interested in magazines purchased from Oleg at rusmilitary.com Regards

    Upgrade Help

Saiga-12.com TECH SECTION That page, indexed in the TECH SECTION should provide all the answers that you need. I just converted a 20 Gauge Saiga and it was pretty straight forward, but you have to read alot of info before you get started so you don't get stuck and feel more than a few anxious moments of despair. Good luck
  3. Looking for a mag release extender, saw one from the guys at warfield armory but cant seem to figure out how to acquire one. Any ideas for a URL of a running company that makes them as an alternative? Thanks
  4. Just got finished the conversion of my stock S-20 with PG and Warsaw Pact length AK stock. Got done after about 6 hours of steady grinding to git 'er done! Kinda late, but expect some pictures tomorrow. Thanks to Dinzag and dinzagarms.com for the parts and the guidance, my S-20 is looking and feeling good, time for some shooting now. (sorry for the picture quality) P.S. Trying my best to get the damn gas block off to drill those ports, no luck with knocking out the bottom pin on the front and the pin by the gas selector detent, any suggestions? S-20 Range Report

Ok...I think this worked pretty good for my S-20. Fired 200 rds 3" Magnum loads thru her, 200/200 100% cycled flawlessly. Switched over to port #2 and tried a few 2.75" Estate #4 Steel Shot, 12/12 100% cycled flawlessly. Ran out of ammo, or else I would have shot more 2.75s. Only complaint, the cartridges are ejecting pretty weak. Only kicking out the 2.75" cartridges about 3-4 feet from the shooting position. The 3" Magnums get blasted out about 8-10 feet easy. All in all, really happy right now with the S-20...its a green light for the full AKS-20 conversion by end of September!

    S-20 Range Report

Thanks for the heads up Cobra! After reading the forum for quite a while, I think the best option, and I'm struggling to afford it, is to beat her into submission. She is performing really well with the 3" Magnums, and I will continue to try those until about 500-600 shells have been shot thru, and then try the 2.75" shells again. Hopefully, the results will be in the high 80s or 90s for good fires.

    S-20 Range Report

Getting only about 65% clean fires with the 2.75" 7/8oz Estates (High Brass) Cartridges. Going back to the 3" Magnums for a few more hundred rounds, those are working well. Still very pleased with the Saiga shotgun.

    S-20 Range Report

Where are you located that you couldn't find 2 3/4" low brass shells? If there's a Walmart around you, you can find them The Winchester bulk packs of 20 gauge are low brass IIRC. Well, good luck and safe shooting! -Chad Actually living in the Bahamas, so no Wal-Mart unfortunately, but next time I travel to the USA I will be looking to pick up a case of those if they are well recommended! The 3" are operating so beautifully, but they are very expensive for just plinking to break-in the gun.

    S-20 Range Report

A friend of mine has some High Brass 2.75" shells, will try to get up with him today sometime to fire some of those off and see how that goes. Sadly I doubt I can find low brass 2.75 on the island. Will report further.

    S-20 Range Report

Just wanted to report on the success I had with the 20Ga Saiga S-20. I used 3" shells only, Kent 3" 7/8oz and Winchester DRYLOK 3" 1oz (1330FPS). Both brands at their respective cartridge sizes cycled flawlessly, 100% chambered and fired everytime. One of the Winchesters must have had a poor primer, it chambered in, but failed to fire when struck. In total, fired 125 shells, with a success rate of 124/125 and the failure was due to a defective shell and not the firearm. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy. This was the first outing at the range with this weapon, never before fired
  11. Happy to report, after a cleaning, lubed with lithium tetra grease in all the right places, my Saiga .223 is working like a dream! Yeah the casings are still getting dented, but only ever so slightly. Fired off 60 rounds of WOLF .223 steel casing and NO jamming. I feel great about the Saiga, no doubt! Thanks for the assist in the forum, glad to be a member of this site! Rgds Bex
  12. Try this thread That is spot on to what I am experiencing, and really chalk it down to being normal, cant reload any rounds here so, it is what it is! I didnt have a chance to go out firing today, will go tomorrow and see what happens then. Thanks for the help tracking that thread down. Much obliged! More previous info http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=17788&hl
  13. Any links providing info would be super! Thanks
  14. Doing my own reading on the forum, it looks like the dent is "normal" for a saiga. The mags are all converted mags. I just cleaned the rifle, and the action is super smooth, I love the firearm, no doubt. I will fire the remaining wolf .223 rounds I have left and report further. Looks like nominal wear and I am gonna stay away from the Federal's!
  15. Fired off a few boxes of Wolf .223 rounds in my converted Saiga .223 and one box of Federal XM193C .223 rounds. The Federal was jamming every two rounds, upon inspection, the casings were dented up pretty bad, some were almost folded by 15 to 20 degrees, here is a pic of the Federal dents occuring in the chamber. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2177/238212...bb5409e.jpg?v=0 The Wolf .223 rounds were alot better, hardly jammed, but she did choke on two rounds, especially when fired rapidly. Here are the pictures of the wolf dents from the Saiga. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2295/238295
