    Need Safety Help

Thanks for the info. Do those pins slide out easily? Anything to be careful off? I'm not mechanically the most competant person in the world. D
  2. Can you send me a link to the thread. Seriously, I don't see it at the top of the string. Thanks, D
  3. Hey there everyone, Got my AGP mags direct from AGP just before Turkey Day and have been slammed siince. I've been reading some of the posts and see passing reference to steel feed lips? whats the deal? Can't find an authoritative post on it. Thanks, Damien

    Bolt Hold Open

Krebs does good work, in fact I have 2 of his KTRS and my saiga 12 came from him too. He is however, slow. I don't want to wait months/years to get this shotgun back. You know, I'm not sure what I mean. I just have heard that bolt hold opens available. I'm thinking I'd like to buy one from whoever it is on the board that sells them and then ship the thing off to tony. D

    Bolt Hold Open

So, I have a Saiga 12 C. I'd really like to get a bolt hold open installed. To be clear, I am one of the most inept mechanical person you can imagine. I can change a tire on a good day, but that is really about it. Questions: How much are they? To whom can I shp the shotgun to have it installed? How much for installation? THanks, Damien
  6. I moved from CA about 5 years ago. To clear something up from an earlier post, it doesn't make any difference if the gun is pre 94 or not. The AWB that went into effect Dec 31st, 1999 required these types of weapons to be registered by Dec 31 2000 (I think those are the correct years). Boiling it down for you, there are very few militarily significant rifles you can own in california. They would have to be fixed stock, with no pistol grip or flash hider. Off the top of my list, I'd pick from the following auto loaders: Mini 14, Mini 30, M1 Carbine (no bayo lug), M1A (no fs/bayo lu

    x39 or x51

To me, it really boils down to what you want the round to do. x39 is an intermediate power cartridge and is totally adequate for civvie defensive use. 308 is a main battle rifle cartridge and will shoot farther, more accurately and through stuff. I personally won't be get a 308 until the 20 round mags are available.
  8. I too am willing to wait, but I'll be very suprised if the russians come through quickly. It has been my experience that they are unreliable at best. Sorry if that hurts anyones feelings. D
  9. Fiirst off, let me state, that I am not at all challenging the voracity of the reviews of this ammo. The people who posted them will forget more then I'll ever know about Saiga's, but my experience with this load was noticably different. My gun has a krebs break and modified win choke tube, so maybe that is the reason for the vastly different results. Shot pattern was not as tight as the Wolf or Winchester or Federal in my gun. It had a1 or 2 fliers out of each pattern (similar to the TAP- which uses the same wad apparently). At Ten yards the group was at least 12 inches across (with
  10. I'd love to get a rail front end. Halo would be fine. Or the krebs handguards or BandT, Blackheart, or anyone else. That would be too sweet. Any ideas? D

    speer LAWMAN

Does anyone know if they make a full power load? I try to avoid "low recoil" or "Tactical" buckshot. To my mind its basically marketing speak for "low Power" and "moderately performing". D I bought 25 rounds too and am going to be getting it this week. I'm shooting a modified choke in my saiga so it will be interesting to see what develops. D
  12. We teach rifle courses all the time and have troops and officers and private citizens carrying loaded chamber, safety one with military rifles all the time. 15 hours a day. Its not a problem and certainly not stupid. Teach muzzle awareness, trigger finger control and common sense. In my opinion, there are four different modes: storage mode (gun empty, no mag) Transport mode (chamber empty, hammer down, loaded mag) Carry Mode (chamber loaded, loaded mag, safety on) And Immediate Use mode (stock mounted on shoulder, safety off) Shotguns are a little different in that most of them
  13. Hey Everyone, Tried out the WOLF 9 pellet buck shot load. At 10 yards, 5 shots went into a hand span group with no flyers and no doughnutting. Total pattern was about 8 inches across. Using an improved win choke in my gun. Midway Shooter Supplies has them for 250 shells for 99 bucks. I was thinking about using them as practice rounds but it really seems like a good defensive load. Highly recommended. D
