  1. Veterans Day is in November. Memorial Day is for honoring those who sacrificed their life to defend our freedom. Thanks for supporting our troops, but this day is for remembering those that have fallen. By the way, from 1775 to 2013, there have been 848,438 combat deaths. 1,321,887 total Military deaths.
  2. Amen. I hope everyone has a safe and memorable Memorial Day weekend.
  3. Was barely into the skin. Must've been a ricochet or something extremely low velocity.
  4. Here's one for sale! http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/88243-saiga-12308-parts-and-mags/
  5. Wouldn't it be easier to just plug up the gas ports somehow? A sleeve that goes in the gas block, or replacing the plug with a longer piece that blocks the gas? Then it would just be a manually operated repeater (via the charging handle).
  6. Nicely done. I'd think everyone should be practiced with manipulating their weapon with only one arm (practice with each). Congrats on the new baby, by the way.
  7. I'd be interested in hearing this too. I haven't yet bought a Lee mold, but was planning on it shortly. Got the reloading press, powder, primers, about 100# of lead and a melting pot, along with a couple thousand shells. No wads yet. Wasn't sure if I'd be going with a roll crimp or not though.
  8. I had the chance to shoot someone's very lightweight 50 BMG a few years ago. I think it was around 11 pounds, which is very light for a 50. It felt like Mike Tyson punched me in the shoulder. The cameraman standing off to the side said "GOD-Damn". LOL
  9. My EDC includes a Brenchmade Mel Pardue folder. Has never let me down.
  10. Hadn't heard of Mega before. Nice that there's a MI based AR lower. I think Detroit Gun Works is another, but I've no clue if they're any good. BCM has quality. Never owned a mid length gas system, but I understand they're pretty nice. They let you use a bayo too.
  11. I may have a spare V Plug somewhere, if you want to try it. I'll look around.
  12. Glad I was able to pick up my spare S12 bolt and carrier when I did. Not interested in selling it, unless someone offered an aburd amount of money. LOL
  13. The only way I could see this happening is if it were a single shot, break open design. Even then, you'd have to design a new bolt. Not sure you'd be able to cut away enough of the upper receiver to allow proper ejection and still be strong enough not to fly apart.
  14. My S12 folds an ACE stock to the left, and it will still fold with my RS mount just fine. I don't fire with it folded, though you could I guess.
  15. Last weekend, I bought a couple BX-25s for $32.00 each. A few people at the gun show still had them for $50 or more, but prices are starting to come back down. Still waiting for better ammo prices......and small rifle primers.
  16. The M&P Shield with a mag safety can also be identified by the loaded chamber indicator on top of the slide. Those without a mag safety have a small hole on top that lets you see a small portion of the case. Those WITH the mag safety have what almost look like an extractor with red sides. See photos;
  17. I think Tromix still sells their heavy duty firing pins.
  18. Part of my EDC is a Fenix PD30. I think they're discontinued now, or updated to a different generation.
  19. Pretty sweet. I may have to pick one of these up.
  20. The only failure I've experience like this was having an old black powder revolver "chainfire" on me. It wasn't mine and I (foolishly) assumed the owner was still greasing the ends of the chamber, as I had watched him do earlier in the day. It launched the barrel forward about 6 feet, bent the frame downward (breaking my finger in the process), and sent some type of material back into my shoulder, requiring 8 stitches (probably a piece of cylinder). It was just a grazing cut, but could have been much more serious.
  21. Haven't had it done yet, but I've seen various things that have been dipped. Compound bows are probably the most common. I talked with a company at a recent gun show that does it and they mentioned to cut down on the gloss, they matte clear coat it. I'm curious how it would hold up to temperature, though I've seen AR-15s dipped, including the barrels.
  22. Damn that Obama. He snuck in and tinkered with it. I'm not familar with the kick light stock, but if it has a recoil absorbing shock, I suppose it's POSSIBLE that it might be robbing the action of a solid platform upon which to cycle. Kinda like "limp wristing" a semi handgun. That'd require the stock to really move a lot, or the shotgun to have been barely working, IMO. If you put the factory plug back in, and it's still not working right, it's probably the stock. Obviously, then replace the stock with a factory one and make sure it's working correctly then. If that's what it was, I'd su
