  1. Is this good to go in factory Saiga .223's? Was thinking about stocking up on some but haven't had a chance to try any.
  2. I would say no need to adapt a flash suppresor or a brake. I had a chance to shoot my 16" Saiga .223 today and, after trying eight different loads in a very dark indoor range, only three exhibited any flash (PMC, S&B and Hornady TAP...of all things!). Just to add, this is a fantastic rifle. One of the easiest rifles I've ever shot. Very soft recoil. Simple to operate. I adapted very quickly to the pistol-style sights as I am an avid pistol shooter and was shooting very acceptable groups almost immediately.
  3. Very nice! Any difficulties doing the conversion?
  4. I actually prefer the pistol-style iron sights on the AK rifles compared to the AR style peep sights. I do plan on trying some optics (lever-lock mount and Leapers 3-9x40) as it's too convenient to pass up with the rifle built from the factory with that in mind.
  5. I think $450 would be an extremely attractive price for your rifle and mags. I just paid a little under $400 at a retail store for a 16" with the single mag. It's very likely the importation of firearms and ammo will be the first thing to get axed with the new administration so keep that in mind.
  6. Definitely doable. You just have to follow 922r regulations when you put on that flash hider, or stick in that 20 round math (both bring your Saiga out of the factory "sporter" configuration). Get the G2 made for unconverted configuration (I have a link in the 3rd post down from the top). That's 3 U.S. made parts, then either get some U.S. made handguards, or a gas piston, both of which are 1 part, bringing you down to 10 foreign parts. Make sure your flash hider is U.S. made, and you're good to go. You can use any kinda mag you want then. Excellent information. Thanks! So i
  7. I don't have a lot of interest in doing a pistol grip conversion but would like to be able to use 20 round mags and have a flash suppresor. Sounds like the G2 FCG is a good mod also. Is this do-able?
