Is it legal to mount a shot gun under a rifle. I Have a singe shot H&R that I think I might want to mount under my siaga. However I want to make sure this is legal first. And by legal I mean I do not have to get a 200$ tax stamp for some thing and get a sherif, a police officer, an indian, a construction worker, and a biker to sign a paper. If so It really is not worth the time.

I would love to know the answer as well. Do you think that the added thickness of an RPK barrel would improve accuracy.

I know that it would be cheaper and easier to just buy a 308 and if that is what I wanted to do I would have, however I am interested in converting so has anyone tried, or does anyone have any relevant info besides that I should just buy another gun. For instance does the magazine opening need to be modified or does the barrel itself need changed anything of this caliber info would be muchly appreciated.

I recently purchased a used siaga that is in good condition besides the barrel and rear sight assembly. (The previous owner did a nightmarish job with a dremil tool attempting to change the sight configuration and botched a thread job on the front as well as removed the front sight and gouged the barrel pretty badly.) That being said I am considering, if it is possible changing the rifle from 7.62X39 to 7.62X51. Has anyone tried this? Is it possible? What kind of modifications need to be made to the receiver and so on? Also how difficult is it to change out the barrel and rear sight assemble?

I was wondering, if any one had tried mateing a Hk slidding stock with a saiga. Is there any known legality issues with this besides 922r,( Not that i am ignoreing 922r I understand its limitations I fully plan on obeying it.)

What I mean is the AK style Pistol. And for all intensive purposes all i want to do is shorten the barrel. But thank you for the very odvious statement of law and not helping me at all. So any way Let me simplify it If I cut the barrel of the Saiga 7.62 will it damage it to the point that it will not work. Any answeres that provide info on what I asked would be appreciated. I have choped and filed barrells before (legally) on a 12 gauge and a 40 cal. I was wonder if any one has done this before on a saiga. I want to convert it into a pistol. My concern is that the barrel will be dammaged in the process due to the bimetal barell (Chrome lined). Also will shorting the barrel to the point of the gas chamber interfer with the Weapons operations. Any info will help I am looking forward to a bad as conversion.
