  1. I'd get a stock Saiga and convert it. You'll learn alot about how the rifle works and it's fun to boot! Eric
  2. Bump Is there anyone out there with a lightly used V-plug?
  3. Replied. Sorry for any confusion, but I'm actually looking for a V-plug. Eric
  4. I see alot of people have switched to the new Autoplug recently. I happen to be looking for a V-plug that all you autoplug users may have left over. My s-12 MAY be overgassed so I want a little more control over gas than the factory plug offers. Anyone got a spare they'd be willing to part with? Eric
  5. Interesting, that disconnector almost looks like a G2 with the larger diameter hole. I'm assuming G1 stands for generation 1? Eric
  6. Anyone have a different FCG that we could compare these with? RSA, Texas, etc? I't interesting to me to see the minor differences between manufacturers. Eric
  7. It is rather large and blocky looking, but it works just fine. Had I not found this site: http://www.cross-con...iga_Conversion/ I probably never would have tried the FSE, but I was new to the Saiga game and that site pretty much spelled everything out for me, so I went with his suggestions. EDIT: I don't mean to sound like I'm bashing the G2, because its got availability and price going for it. Probably most of the people doing conversions on the cheap are using the G2 because EVERYONE sells them and for a decent price. It's just that I've used the FSE for so long that the G2 is
  8. No problem! It's interesting for me because the G2 is so prolific in the AK world and you dont see the FSE too often, especially now that they aren't made anymore IIRC. Eric
  9. Here's a little bit of gun porn I thought I'd share with everyone Actually I was bored and had my Saiga 7.62 and S-12 apart and snapped a few pics. Enjoy! Eric Trigger Comparisons.pdf
  10. Mine is an '08 with 4 ports from the factory. Runs low brass on setting 2 just fine. I'm not sure about the sizes but I can chacke later. Eric
  11. To me, this actually looks easier than trying to remove the gas block pins if you were going to replace the gas tube. I know I can get my barrel pin out, the gas block pins not so much. Eric
  12. Can someone hook me up with a couple axis pin retainers? I've been using e-clips but they are a pain in the ass to remove and install, plus they wear out easily and won't clip into place after a few uses. I know I can buy these from numerous places online, but I can't see paying $7 or $8 shipping for something that will fit in a small envelope. Does anyone have a couple they would be willing to sell? Eric
  13. I had a 95 XJ for a few years and that 4.0L auto was F'in bulletproof! Sadly, since I live in NY with salt and rust, the rest of the body was rusting pretty bad or else I'd still have it. Eric
  14. Now is your opportunity to pay to have it shipped and pay to have the BHO..... and wait months.... and..... Not a chance I'm broke and way too impatient for that. Plus, I always THINK I can do it just as well myself. Unfortunately that doesn't always work out... Eric Thanks for the tip! I'll try this out today and see how it works. The BHO tab needs to be trimmed though, it's a little rough on the finger. Eric
  15. Got it working, but I had to remove the BHO. For some reason, the tail of the hammer spring kept sliding over toward the disconnector and jamming the whole trigger assembly. After removing the BHO it works fine. Oh well, the little tab was cutting into my finger anyway. Eric
  16. You should have paid to ship it out and paid to have someone else make you wait months for something that you could have done in a few minutes I do when it comes to refinishing and such, but even I can handle a file Awesome. Now get some ammo and test fire it. That's my plan for tomorrow
  17. Done! Took about 15 mins to file and check fit. Thanks! Eric
  18. Well I know I'm LATE to this party, but let me know about the next one. You know I'm not too far away Indy Eric
