I was going to do that, but I decided to wait and ask before I break out the dremel and file. Eric

After removing the Clinton plate from the bottom of my S-12 the other day, I robbed the fcg out of my 7.62 Saiga so I could test for function. Now, I did my 7.62 conversion about 6 or 7 years ago and used an FSE (First Son Enterprises) hammer, trigger and disconnector. FSE is no longer selling AK parts AFAIK. When installed in the S-12, the top of the trigger hook is ~1/8" too tall and the carrier hits it when I try to cycle the bolt. I plan on getting a G2 FCG anyway, but I was hoping to function test the gun after conversion. Anyone else has this kind of trouble? I'm not sure how pop

Akdal 1919 ok in NY, but S-12 w/pg not?

Gotcha. I was just wondering, not like I have $700 to plunk down on one right now. It's too bad we are even forced to have this discussion. Eric -
Akdal 1919 ok in NY, but S-12 w/pg not?

Ok, that makes more sense now. Does anyone think there will be a "grandfather" clause once/if hi-cap mags are available? Eric -

I was wondering about slip on recoil pads. I havent shot it yet (still need a FCG) but I can imagine that thin stock being a punisher with heavy 12ga. loads. Eric -

Very funny indeed. I was hesitant to even mention it but I just couldn't figure it out and was hoping it wasn't just me. BTW, I Just recently converted my S-12 using the Bulgarian skeleton stock similar to yours. I'm not usually a fan of thumbhole style stocks but this one is awesome! Eric -
I think I may be missing something here... In NY we cannot have S-12's with a pistol grip. If we want to convert them they have to have thumbhole stocks to comply with NYS laws. The other day I was at my local sporting goods store and lo and behold, they have the Akdal 1919 for sale, which is an autoloading shotgun with a pistol grip and detachable magazine. So why is it that we S-12 owners can't put a pg on our guns but 1919's are allowed? Am I missing something that is blatanly obvious? Eric

Ordered a skeleton stock and it was shipped quickly, and was a heck of a deal for $17! Eric

Those MG-13 mags also work great for Hakim rifles with a little modification Eric

I just converted mine yesterday on the floor and computer desk. Make sure you have good quality drill bits! I ended up using a dremel with carbide burrs for removing the rivets since I have crappy drill bits. Eric

Ok, that's what I thought, but since I'd never seen one before I thought I'd ask. Are they specific to S-12's, or are they on all the newer guns now? My 7.62 is an '03 EAA and it didn't have one. Eric

So I disassembled my S-12 this morning in preparation to remove the Clinton plate and convert it, and I noticed this extra(?) part in the factory FCG. Any ideas what it does? There wasn't one on my 7.62 so I thought I would consult everyone here. Eric

It does look odd now that you mention it. Theres also no shadow on the arm holding the Mac and there should be because the other arm is between him and the light source. Sniff...something smells fishy -
I had it on the floor with a scrap plywood block under it and that worked pretty well. Eric

Success! Well, halfway. I got the lower pin out but my punch broke (again) trying to get the upper pin out. Turns out a little Rem-oil and a bigger hammer was all I needed, except now I need a new punch

So I'm trying to remove the gas block and I absolutely cannot get the pins to budge. I've bent two punches, got penetrating oil everywhere, and muttered a few things other folks probably shouldn't have heard. Any ideas? Eric

WTS: Saiga 12 wood furniture
emr454 replied to emr454's topic in Unsorted Ads prior to November 2012 (WTS / WTT)
SPF already! Eric -
I have a set of wood furniture that will fit on the S-12 that I'm looking to sell. This wood came off the S-12 I bought from Indyarms a couple years ago, and he told me it was 308 furniture with the handguard bored out to fit over the S-12 barrel. The stock is still factory config minus the recoil pad, and I refinished them both red, trying for a Russian type finish to match my AK. If anyone is interested I'd sell the set for $35 shipped. PM me with any offers. Thanks for looking.

WTS: Random stuff

bump -
I'm cleaning out my extraneous/unneeded gun stuff. All items will be shipped USPS priority mail. PM me or email me at eric_renfer@yahoo.com with any offers. I have a set of Pachmayr grips for a small frame Taurus 85 revolver. Model TR1/C. I've had them on my pistol for a while, but I prefer the wood grips. They are like new in package and show no signs of use. $20 shipped. I have a lightly used Springfield XD9 mag for sale. It is the 10 round version for oppressed states with the grip extension for use in sub-compact guns. I have used it a few times and it works fla
