  1. The BATFE have no interest in how much ammo you buy or have. I called them last year and asked. Their answer was I could buy it by the traincar if I wanted to. There was/is no law on how much you can buy or own. I bought a pallet of Golden Tiger. It is the best ammo I have ever ran through my Saiga and it works great in AR's too.
  2. I know the round will kill a deer if it's a head shot. Of course, if you're horn hunting it would suck. I'm sure it would kill eventually with a good body shot, but I wouldn't want to have to track it until the deer co-operated. The bullet is just too small unless it's a head shot for me to try. The 7.62x39 now is great for deer. Polishing won't make it more accurate, but of course make the trigger smoother.
  3. If you are close to NC, I have Golden Tiger by the 1k=$205 renegadebuck I have plenty of ammo in my small stock pile and I am in Texas. My rifle seems to do very well with Previ Partizan 55gr SP ammo. I am very impressed with the results plus it cleans very easy. Thanks for the offer though. If you ever stop near the Houston area drop me a PM. The reason I replied is I bought for a group buy and not many picked up what they wanted, so I ended up with about 60k extra. Shipping will kill you though!

  5. It actually still shoots. I just tried it and it functions perfectly. I just have to fill in, straighten, and weld up the magwell, so I really doubt he sells it, but I will ask. Edited to add. He's really a super guy, just has a health problem until he gets his transplant. No offense or mocking taken. Any of us could have an organ fail at any time. I just happen to have known this guy most of my life. His mind isn't going, unlike some, if his enzymes and whatever get off because of the organ failing and the medication hasn't done it's job yet, he gets a bit spacey and dizzy. He can realize

  7. I actually started this thread just to tick you off, and to find out what a classy genius you really were. Thanks for the education. Exactly right! Edited for pics. He took the mag(or what was left of it) with him. But I took these:
  8. Ok Guys, this is more humorous than tragic (for people anyway). Have you ever shot your Saiga? Before you answer, look at the question the other way. My friend did! He's a really smart guy (most of the time) but he has health issues. When these issues arise, he does some really stupid crap. The good thing is as soon as he starts talking, you can tell if his chemistry is off or if he's "normal". Getting back to the subject, a few weeks ago, he brought an AR to the house to shoot. I asked about his Saiga and he sort of hung his head and said he didn't have it anymore. I asked if he'd sold it or

  11. I forgot, that was my fault also. As far as the customer, I hate we couldn't resolve it, but now that I've figured out what's wrong, I think it's best just to sever ties.

    update

OK guys, this is painful. I have run into a person/customer that even offering a complete refund didn't please. I apologize to the person and to everyone else. The story is long, suffice it to say, it worked for me but not for him. I will be returning his money on the return of the adapter. Evidently, there is one Saiga(and owner) out there it won't work on, and that didn't break. I think I know why, but that doesn't matter now. I've been awakened at 3 am to this guy complaining and had my integrity questioned and insulted. To help appease him, I'm adding this disclaimer that it wouldn't work
  13. Not sure you are on the right track. Metal density can vary widely from one casting to next. A denser casting is going to be more resistant to flexion and breakage. You won't find a dremel anywhere near my shop, but even so just for the sake of argument, if one were to use a dremel or any other tool with a rotating head to remove metal - it isn't necessary to heat the metal to the point of affecting temper to remove what you need to remove. My guess is that the wild card is the metal density and quality of the casting, which varies from gun to gun with every other cast part. It st
  14. No, in my case, the only need for any milling/grinding is so the mag will fit in the gun. The adapter needs nothing to fit the gun, so, nothing can be done adapter wise to solve or prevent this that I can see.
  15. I did a search on here to find all the threads, but I'm not all that computer savvy and couldn't get the searches to go back far enough. You can email me at renegadebuck@gmail.com and I can direct you, or if you are more computer literate, you can search them out here. I'll be glad to help you either way. It is steel, and so far the price hasn't changed in going on 2 years. It will be slightly improved this time, however. Renagadebuck, do you have a ideal when yours will be ready? I'm shooting for 5 weeks, I hope sooner, but The shop promised delivery in 2 wks from today. Give

  17. Hi rigrat. I'm waiting on the next group to be built. It should be soon. Email me your email address and I'll let you know when they arrive. renegadebuck@gmail.com

  18. Hey christcorp, if you use a manufactured bullet guide, you will have to adapt it as it is too long and interferes with the AR mags, or so I'm told. I haven't tried one but it has been reported to me.
  19. First, my baby: 2005 Dyna Old Baby. I haven't started her in 2 years. 92 Sporty I have a 2k Chevy Z-71, 89 Cherokee, 01 Sebring, and a 72 Challenger 340, to drive. Many more under construction.
  20. You have the basics pretty much covered and the only thing I see you missed is the PG nut. You might want to can the spring that holds the trigger group and get the shepards crook from one of the vendors here.
  21. if he's asking $4700, offer him $4000. Well I emailed him this morning, asking about the price increase from last year. The kids father ended up replying, saying that his son just threw those videos together and threw a price on it, without asking him (his father). But I'm getting a lot of feedback from people I've asked, that given the model/year/miles/mods/etc................it should still be under $5K. So I emailed again, letting him know I'm not going to be able to do anything over $5K, and if he thinks we can work it out, to let me know. Otherwise, good luck with the sale a
  22. If one of the first 5 sentences out of your mouth after someone on the line says "Hello" is "I'm sorry I called so late..." don't say it because your not. If you were, you wouldn't have called at 2:30 am and no one that I know or care about is dead or dying, and it's not a wrong number. Maybe I'm the selfish one, but waking up my family and myself on a work night because you decided to work on your rifle late and things are not working out like you thought, just doesn't seem like a good enough reason to make that decision. I will be much more concerned and helpful between 9am and 11pm, tha
