  1. +1 on the Tapco polymer 20 rounders. -infinity on any other SKS duckbill mags.
  2. Everytime a friend of mine tries out the 12 for the first time I have to show him my way of locking the bolt open. Here's what I do: Using my thumb pointing down, I pull the carrier back all the way, then using my middle finger I push and hold up on the BHO tab, then slowly release the carrier and the BHO should catch. At the same time with my left hand I'm usually removing the mag and reinserting a new one.
  3. I think I'll have to do the load by hand 1 round at a time bit because of the rules here. I think the only way I could use a mag is like this, load up my MD20 and my factory 5 rounder, insert whichever one first when it's my turn, shoot but keep my finger on the BHO somehow and then eject mag and then it's next guys turn. That'll do me for the 25 rounds for trap but seems crazy to me and I don't think I'll try that anyway just had to say it to say it A LRBHO would be great for this as far as loading 1 round at a time by hand goes.
  4. Don't you find it interesting that you and I are the ONLY ones commenting in this thread? Not sure what it means...just interesting. -Emt1581 Probably cause this "issue" has been discussed before at great length with a couple different solutions suitable for a couple different needs. Easily found using the search feature on the board. Search, search and more search. Pretty soon this forum is going to be a search engine and not a forum. I wonder why there are certain topics that get beat to death and no one says anything. But when certain people open a topic that had been di
  5. Uuhh...can we get an audio sample or what? I'm sitting here trying to figure this chart out.
  6. Oh yah and this range by my place only allows you to have one in the chamber with the action open until it's your turn. What's a guy to do, lock the bolt back and just load a single round by hand into chamber everytime? What's suggested for this particular situation?
  7. Ooh I've got the ghost rings on my 19", now you got me wanting to shoot some trap with it. Don't know if I dare take it to the trap range though, the Fuds are as Elmer as they come. Only shot trap 3 seperate times so far with my grandpa's AYA double barrel and I progressively kept hitting less. Most likely due to the fact that I had no idea what I was doing.
  8. A month ago my friend payed $450 for his (I got to tell him "I told you so" cause I got mine a couple months earlier for $350 and he was with me saying "oh I'll get one of these some day"). Add $175 for parts mostly from Dinzag and a couple hours to do the job in my garage...I'd feel like I got ripped if I was in your shoes but hey it's money spent and I'm sure you'll enjoy the gun. Only recourse I can see is to go buy a S12 (or whatever other Saiga you don't have, if you don't have others) and do the conversion yourself and you'll see how easy it is and learn something too.

  10. I'd like to hear someones thoughts on the advantages of this. Seems like it would make holding your sights on your target for any length of time harder, compared to the standard way you'd hold the forend.
  11. Walmart 100 pack of birdshot. About $20. New Saiga might cycle it on gas setting 1 but if not switch to gas setting 2.
  12. Like the old saying goes, "Keep 'em both."
  13. Seats 6, arms 8. Counter clockwise starting from top: Mossberg 500 w/ the top folder, Tromix Saiga 12 factory length 19" w/ the Ace folder Krebs ghost rings MD20 Izhmash picatinny foreend, .50 Desert Eagle with the Hogue grips, Russian SKS with a cheap ass scope and 20 round Tapco duckbill mag, new unfired Chinese SKS-M with the 40 round Hungarian, another SKS-M with the Tapco T-6 stock modded to accept 75 round drum and with the cheese grater upper handguard, Saiga 7.62 with the 30 round Surefire, Glock 26 with the G18 mag.

  15. Maybe just make a stencil and spray paint whatever symbol on it. I personally wouldn't paint the entire drum body.
  16. Mine cycled low brass on setting 1 for probably 300 rounds or so, then it only liked shooting the low brass on setting 2.
  17. I say you can never have too many magazines, that is unless you don't have the ammo to fill them with. I like the 5 rounder 'cause it's not too big (i.e. that new Surefire 12 rounder). That's what I have ready to go in my Saiga at all times but the AGP 10 and MD20 are very close by.

    BHO

You should have a BHO on your gun (see the metal tab protruding from the receiver next to the trigger? Of course if your gun's unconverted your trigger will be farther to the rear of receiver). The Saiga's BHO is not to be confused with a LRBHO. The difference, the BHO is manually activated. I usually use my right thumb pointed down to pull back the carrier and when it's back far enough I press the BHO with my middle or ring finger, then release the carrier.
  19. +1 on the TLR-2. Always liked a laser on a shotgun specifically for the shooting from the hip situations. Somebody on here should remember also the laser that screws into the gas port?
  20. Not converting?!?!?! Might as well just move to California and bend over. Same premise. If the laws made sense (not that they ever will), the Saiga would have been imported without any need to "convert" it in the first place.
  21. Your gun got the BHO right? Just leave the bolt open with the mag inserted and the safety off.
  22. I like that handle, how does it attach? I might be interested if like you say you've got some in your inventory somewhere.
  23. I've found I prefer my Dinzag's Tapco G2 trigger (on my 7.62) over my Tromix SRT (on my 12), only because I like to be able to feel a little movement before I know it's gunna go bang. For lack of better description, I like to feel the trigger pull slightly, then I know just a smidge more and it's gunna go kaboooooom! Personal preference. Since you've already got the super shorty I'd say stay with the 19" and spend the extra $$$ on another drum or more AGPs or ammo for that matter.
  24. I got the K-Var handguards, just haven't put them on because I don't have the AK gas tube and lower retainer. You got those right? Sorry, not much help but I will be in the same boat sometime soon.
